Make your food the night before, plac it in the fridge or better yet in the freezer and just heat it up when you are ready to eat.

I don't cook - but I used to run a chemical production facility and what we'd do is measure out all the chemicals (ingredients) in batches and put them in tuperware containers. That way, when we needed it, we'd have the right amount. I think this would make meal preparation easier.

Also, making stuff in bulk and eating it over the course of a week could work too. Good luck !

Prepare things like chopped onions and celery earlier and in enough bulk that you will use only what you need in a weeks time.
Also choose simpler meals like crockpot dishes and grilled or broiled meats. Frozen veggies help out a lot. And now you can buy all kinds of really food pre prepared potatoes, mashed, and other varieties (like Simply Potstoes already sliced, diced shredded, wedged).
Anything you can prepare ahead and freeze will save time also.

Also if you have a family or spouse, get them involved it will be easire and it can be fun too.

Select meals for the week. If you work, you can prepare the week's meals on the weekend and just microwave them each night. Things that microwave well are pasta dishes, Asian dishes, mashed potatoes, most meat, meatloaf. Experiment. If you don't want to do that, plan your meals for the week and be sure you have all the ingredients on hand. Then use one recipe each night so you don't have to wonder what to have.
