I have to get a tyroid scan tommorow because my docter thinks I might have thyroid cancer, So the docter gave me a radiation pill to see whats going on inside my body. what should i exoect and what kind of effects does the pill have?

I have taken this pill, and you should expect no reaction from it....It really is a simple test, and it will show how your thyroid is doing. Good luck

You should not feel like you took anything at all. It is kind of like having to drink contrast before a CT scan. It just helps show what they need to see during the scan. Radiation is sort of the same way. It will just show up problems with the thyroid better.

i had no side effects from taking the radiation pill prior to the scan, i had graves disease,, which cause hypothryoidism,,, did the scan, then had a massive radioactive pill to basically kill my thyroid, no bad effects from it either, though i did wonder if i would glow in the dark, lol
