Quite good. Strong, in an almost sulfuric way. But if you're talking about green onions, then: "green," more in line with other strong greens (herbs, green peppers, collard greens) than plain white cooking onions. Vidalia onions are crisp and sweet.

Then again, if you're the guy who lives with me and you refuse to eat cooked onions, you describe them as "warm, salted slugs."

Its not so much how would you describe onions in terms of taste the question to be asked would be describe the reaction of your coworkers when you eat raw onions and breathe out the smell with mouth open of course as you slowly annuciate your words as you ask them questions about nothing of importance

Green onions for a garnish is great. Raw white, yellow, or red onions are heck on my tummy. However, cooked down onions of any kind in sauces or soups are great.

I don't like raw onion---yick, but I do like onion once it is cooked as it becomes sweeter and milder.

Bleh, they're terrible! I hate onions... they're decent to use for seasonings, but too much is just awful.
