Wow, rumors in my school spread like wildfire. Ack. Anyway, I liked a girl and my friends blabbed and jumped the gun, asking her out. Problems were that we didn't really know each other, plus she's one grade below me so I don't see her except in the hallway and after lunch.

Was a genius idea to ask her before even getting to know her, yes, I know. Anyway, like I said earlier, rumors spread like wildfire. When my friend asked my crush's brother if he cared if someone liked his sister, he mentioned my name at the same time. Even though he didn't care, he told his friends that were sitting next to him at lunch. With more people asking and hearing by the second, probably the whole school knows that I like her and she rejected me.

So... I'm confused. Should I back off? Should I start off as friends? What should I do? I'm considering the option of backing off, and I'm following through with the decision so far, but I'm not sure what I should do, now that the situation has changed.

How much do you really care about this girl? (Remember: anything worth having is worth fighting for -- in this case figuratively NOT literally!)
Do you think you have kind of chance with her now after all the blah-blah-blah? (You ARE a year older; usually that counts for something!)
In any case, I'd approach her first as a friend, maybe even comment on how far out of hand this whole thing got and how ridiculous you find it that everyone wants to make it their business! Say hi to her in the hall. Could you have any activities together (like school clubs or sporting events)?
And I'd lose, or distance myself from that "so-called" friend who let your name slip to your crush's brother. That was just plain mean and meddling!
Good luck!

if u back off u would be considered a looser u dont want that if u really like this girl even though u dont know her still and she rejected u so what
just act as if nothing happened and if u really like her then u should go and talk to her nicely and ask her y she rejected u and to do that u need balls .
she might reject u again but this will get a lot of confidence in u believe me it works

WELL SINCE YOU DID NOT START TO GET TO KNOW HER BEFORE YOU ASKED HER YOU MIGHT WANT TO START AS BEING FREINDS

IF YOU SINCE THAT SHE OR YOU IS FEELING KIND OF WEIRD THEN YOU MIGHT TRY TO BE HER BROTHERS FRIEND IF YOUR NOT ALREADY

GET TO KNOW HER AND GO INTO IT SAYING THAT YOU WANT TO BE HER FRIEND
