Is there any way to rent outside night time surveillance equipment? I can't afford to buy equipment like this. Someone has been damaging my property, slashing tires and leaving poisoned food for my dog. NO JOKE! I have called the police and they said they can't help me unless I catch them on video or a picture. I am at a loss on how to handle this. Only serious answers please.

I am not sure on renting the equippment but contact a local security company and ask. We had the same problem last year and went to walmart and purchased a "game camera". It cost about 35$ It is a motion camera that takes pictures after something passes the motion sensor mounted where it would be next to impossible for him to remove. We also bought a couple of the motion sensors that beeps inside the house.

After we got some pictures of the perp (couldn't tell who it was) we went ahead and invested in an outside security system and had cameras installed outside. It was pricey tho, around 2 grand.

I've never heard of rental equipment of this type. If there is, the cost (I believe) would equal or exceed the cost of the equipment itself, because you probably wouldn't catch on film the event you want the very first night. It's something that would be on-going night after night, and the results uncertain. You're in an unfortunate situation, no question about that. Even if you placed some surveillance equipment out there, the quality of photo or film during the night hours may be sufficient to register a suspicious event or even the slashing itself, but perhaps insufficient quality to identify the person(s). You may have to resort to more economical means of prevention, rather than capture...but thinking about lighting that turns on when movement is detected, advising neighbors of the problem, etc. Sorry my message does not carry much promise.

Go to a few churches of different denominations, so you can get an idea of what appeals to you. Give each one a month of sundays(4), attend as many functions as possible, be very observant of how they treat "everyone" do they practice what they preach???, How do you feel when the service is over? Do you look forward to attending services?? Check out the sunday school programs, what are they teaching?? Are you learning anything that you really didn't know/understand before.?? Is the pastor approachable ??(sometimes they get to big for regular people). Do you have any friends, neighbors, relatives, that you can approach about this, that are active in a church and can show you the ropes?? When you seek God, know that he is always with you. And will lead you to the answers that you seek. Whatever you do, don't give up your search. It took me a while, but God didn't give up on me, and I know he will guide you. Seek and you shall find I thank and Praise. the Lord for smiling down on you

Don't just call the police, go personally to the station and report this . Taxpayers are paying their saleries to protect u.
They can circle your neighborhood at night.....and if they will not do this , report them to a higher source.
Your best bet is to get some garlic and sprinkle around your house. It may ward off evil dooers.
Garlic bulb is the best.
God will protect u if u pray by the blood of Jesus.
Dont tolerate this evil in your neighborhood, there is a solution.

They sell a motion sensored sprinkler, for deer, and neighborhood dogs. Rather than invest hundreds of dollars on surveillance equipment, you may want to spend under $50, and just swap the location of the sensor...

Even sensor lights may be enough to startle him for good

police really are good for nothing! I'm afraid what your going to have to do is just stay up all night. Get a camcorder and hide on top your roof one night. Get someone to go up with you so you don't fall asleep. You might want to get one of those really bright security lights outside. Good luck. Or maybe hire a privae investagator to watch your house.

My brother had a similar problem, but not as serious. His neighbor came by everynight and cut flowers from his flower bed. He set up a regular video cam to a motion sensor. Not exactly sure how he did it, but it worked. Hope that at least gives you another avenue to explore.

And btw... it was the lil ol lady across the street!!! teehee

you could buy an inexpensive camcorder and hide it outside your house and point it where most of the trouble is happening and keep it running with lots of blank tapes hopefully you will catch the person responsible in the act. I guess another alternative is to hire a private investigator and have them run survelliance for you.

It would be cheaper to hire an investigator. If this is happening often then he will sit outside your home and monitor what is going on. If this is happening when you are out of the house then it is someone you know and you must not tell anyone you hired them. Good luck.

If you don't have a video recorder you can ask your friends to lend you one. Buy at blank tape/CD/DVD and record the place wherein the vandals usually makes their move. Put the video camera near your window and make sure the place you are recording are well lit.
