There are times I come here and read statements and questions placed here regarding topics that should probably refer more universal love....but I leave feeling that I have been attacked by the cruelty of this group against that group. Do you ever feel that way?

All the time and you right.

You are attacked; we all are.

There are way too many people who enjoy hurting others on here and trying to spread hatred and intollerance.

All we can do is report what abuses we see and hope Yahoo will get rid of the posts that should not be here.

I report them often and it doesn't matter to me if Christianity, Islam, Paganism, Athiests, Buddhism or any other way is being attacked.

After all, freedom of speach does not, in any way, justify the abuse of others.

Stay strong please because we need all the good people on here we can get to keep a good forum from becoming a cesspool.

Hugs to you and hugs to all the other nice people on here like Debra, River Otter and Spooky.

If I haven't mentioned that I really appreciate you guys I would like to correct that oversight now.

Very much so. The group vs group issues are rediculous. Most religions have Love as a basis and yet we see nothing but conflict. Fundamentalism in any form is trouble. It'd be a lot easier if they'd stop fighting and just agree to disagree over the name of the Divine. Besides, if I had a nickle for every person who's died or been killed in the name of God, I'd be a really wealthy Otter. That's a profoundly sad thought, isn't it. Blessings.

I do get insulted sometimes when people say that we as Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult, or say other rude things about us. We are free to practice our religion just like everyone else in this country. The fact that we do exactly what Jesus asked his disciples to do at Matthew 28:19, 20 gets us a lot of flack. I don't take it personal because I can tell the difference in the comments from those that have actually spoken with Jehovah's Witnesses and are informed about what we really believe, and those that have not. I think it is really sad when this is used as a forum to bash other beliefs. I don't think there is anything wrong with learning about anothers religion.

I don't take anything said here personally. I kind of look at it as I don't really know these people so I'm not sure I'm too concerned with what they think about me or my beliefs. I think if we all knew eachother in real life, a lot of the assaults and nastiness wouldn't happen - or we'd be able to agree to disagree - or we just wouldn't hang out together due to difference of beliefs. It's a lot harder to be nasty to people in person when you're looking at them face to face than it is to be nasty toward words (and an avatar) over the internet. My guess is the majority of the people on here are really nice people in person. The internet just really gives us all freedom to say how we really feel without the risk of the consequences of making others cry, or feel assaulted. The problem with that mentality is we forget there are people with real emotions on the other side of those words.

As a Muslim , i can't remember the number of the times we got assaulted here.
there are so many ppl attacking Muslims for no reason ..and they not only discuss things from a religion point of view but some just insult with profanity.
i know some Muslims rush and assault back as a reaction (which something i disagree with) but we all really need to work on respecting each others' beliefs and thoughts .

Do I ever feel assaulted by nameless, faceless people posting hateful things on the web? No I do not. And its a shame you other people allow it to make you feel that way... Too many people allow others to affect them. Elenor Roosevelt said that no one can walk on you - unless YOU give them permisssion....

I wouldn't say assaulted, but I could see how you would feel that. I just think that this is a worthless place to hang out, because most of the people here are intellectually retarded.

Just an immature understanding.
individuals are only expressing themselves.
If you are as thin skinned as you indicate, go elsewhere.

Live by the golden rule and leave this place better than how you found it.

Absolutely.
And it has been this way ever sense my Lord Jesus walked the earth. I am actually a little worried when I am not attacked. I love the trolls though. They are why I am here. I'm a troll hugger :)

May GOD richly bless you
