we are so used to do things a certain way its hard to stop doing them. just out of habit we will continue to do the same thing even when a new/easier way is established.

When people try to be original or to devise something original they tend to fall into the trap of using things which were already used in the past. This is not done consciously and it is generally only afterwards that this is noticed. Thus escaping from the ideas in your head becomes more difficult than actually starting something from scratch, because these ideas are the greatest obstacles there are.

One study proves that it takes 21 days to break a habit but only 14 days to create a new one. The hardest part is merely overcoming change, moving on, getting past an obstacle. New ideas can come in many forms and in abundance sometimes....the character of one's self is developing the ability to adapt and grow from the present situation both good and bad. You're a better person for it regardless as long as you live and learn and learn from your living....

Its kind of like the quote 'there are no new ideas, they are just recycled from the old ones'
It is hard to escape from the thoughts/ideas that you were taught when you were growing up. Create your own idea for a movie, most likely each part of it will like 20 other movies/or books you've seen or read.

Having an old idea that you have accepted limits the possibilities in the subject that you are considering, to the point that new and valid ideas cannot even be considered or created by you, much less accepted and used, unless you 'escape' the old one.

Someone may formulate new ideas/concepts/beliefs with relative ease, but getting this out and accepted by the general public is the challenge.
For example, all of the forward thinkers in history who were shunned and even persecuted during their time for their "radical and novel" ideas.

Basically...think outside of the box.
The difficulty in innovation is getting what everyone else has said or done out of your head, and thinking for your self.

OK...most people are resistant to change. It is usually much harder to instigate a new plan/idea than it is just to stick to the old ones.

everyday of our lives we are we are stormed with ideas that shape our thinking making it difficult for us to come up with our own since the old ones are already embeded in our minds.

I think it means that it's harder to free oneself from old ideas rather than to create new ones because our new thinking is influenced by our old thoughts.
