Hi I have a rather horrid stuation. I am a 42 year old father. My daughter who is 17 was trying on some clothes, and I guess when she was trying on her bikini for the beach, she walked out from her room to the kitchen for a second or so.
I have never thought of my daughter in any type of sexual way, obviously as I am her father. But for some reason when I saw her in her bikini, I became aroused. I mean VERY aroused. It was very VERY disturbing to me, I felt as if I had no control.
Whats worse is that I think she may have noticed as I was standing in the kitchen when it it happened. I went back to the living room quickly to "shake it off" and sat on the couch.
My daughter is a very beautiful girl and physically very attractive but I am her father and should in no way become aroused just because she wore a bikini. I am feeling disgust with myself. My question is should I feel shame? This has never happened before and it deeply disturbes me. Should I feel disgusted?

Women are very beautiful and curvy. Men are very visual. TV and advertisements are full of showing the woman's curves, especially young women around your daughter's age. Your instincts of memory of a young woman's body kicked it. Good thing you caught yourself and told your manhood "no that's my daughter."
I am sure your daughter has no idea. A daughter would never think that her dad would get aroused at his age, let alone while looking at her.
It is normal for a dad to feel uncomfortable when his daughter is dressed skimpy especially down to a bikini. That is why sitcoms joke about the dad's telling their little darlings to cover up.
You know that the whole experience was wrong. To keep it from happening again, Use your daddy role and tell her to cover up the next time she is parading around like that.
I would have never of wore a bikini in front of my father. I was always covered, that's my dad. My brother wouldn't have wanted to see me in a bikini either.
Like I said if she is wearing something skimpy you are the father tell her to cover up. Think about what other men and boys are seeing.

Regardless of what others say about you being disgusting, YOUR STILL A MAN! And men are programmed entirely different than women. Of course you're going to get an erection if she prounces out in a bikini. Those are the laws of nature. Just don't act on what happened and maybe talk to your daughter about the importance of modesty.

its done, u got aroused. now forget it., the more u think abt it the more ur mind will look for possiblities, keep away from ur daughter for a while and try to be with her only when some one else is around, its digusting and disturbing but we r all humans and now get it out of ur head. see a pycologist if possible to help u.

Well I will admit that as a daughter I do find that relatively disgusting. However, it is a known fact that men aren't always capable of controlling their arousal. Don't blame yourself.

No, not really, it is a natural reaction to your daughters beauty, the only reason to feel disgust, is if you acted on that feeeling, then I would suggest seeking a professional opinion, we as men are naturally aroused by beauty and form, sometimes we can't help the way our bodies react to the female form, family ties are not a buffer. ---Duane

Did you look at her lustrously or like my daughter is very attractive? Don't worry about it but don't tell her for sure. Try not to look at her if you see her in something provocative. Maybe tell her not to walk around like that or not to dress like that. Don't get too worked up about it. You have a wife.

No. This is a perfectly normal male reaction to a beautiful woman. The fact that it disturbs you is healthy. Let's face it, your average p*nis doesn't know the difference between a woman and the top deck of a bus!

im not going to bash you like everyone else b/c i know that stuff happens that sometime we have no control over. But really you should talk to a professional to help you understand why. I agree with the guy who ask if she looked like her mother. maybe you just noticed the resemblance of her and your wife in younger days.

you have to control yourself because the if you gave into your feeling it would have a terrible effect on her and she would not like you all her life for your weakness. Do not look at her in future when she is like that turn away, she is your daughter you should feel ashamed really.
