She's been fine ever since we got her in july, when she was 2 1/2 months old, but now she's been doing some weird stuff. Now she keeps lying down on her side and meowing even if we're not close or visible to her. She's also been licking herself alot more. We opened up the basement to her (We cleaned it very well first, and she only goes in a small part of it anyway) 2 weeks ago, but it only started around 2 days ago and we thought it was probably just some new thing. But she's doing it so much we think it might be some type of sickness. We only let her outside once and she had a flea and other insect collar for the whole week. We also took her for her vet appointment a little bit after that and all of the disease tests were negative. Is she sick, and if she is, what can we do to help her? thanks in advance for the help.

Oh, and she's always liked to play around with the plants my mom puts around the house and sometimes chews and spits out a leaf of one, but she's been doing that all the time and she only got sick (hope not)just now. and if it's not a disease, what is it?

Yeah, it is a concrete basement, so that explains the licking. and we're scheduled to get her spayed in January (I think)

If she hasn't yet been spayed, that might explain all the meowing. All cats like to chew plants and usually promptly vomit afterward. Just get her vet checked and make sure she's up to date with all her shots. Female cats are always kind of freaky , especially when in heat.

Seems like it is just something she does (has she ever had seperation problems?) I know my cat had developed a lot of strange things in the 14 years I had her.
And the licking thing may be because of the dust in the basement if there are cement floors. I would just keep an eye on her...as long as she eats and potties normally and her poops don't look abnormal (just like a baby you need to check them out).

You can always bring her into the vet again if you want to start those vet bills and freak the poor kitty out. But I would rely on a mom's sense and lots of love!

Did you type that the kitten had a flea collar. I would probably take that off. We had one cat that had a allergic reaction on her skin and another cat that had a seizure from the flea medicine. I did'nt know at the time but the flea stuff from the store is dangerous. It would be worth a try. Also I would look into the type of plants its around since some are poisonous.

It relies upon on the area. If the canines is whelping a muddle of puppies or a cat has somewhat diarhhea then the 1st option may be to cope with it at homestead to make certain if the area gets greater efficient. And on a similar time as waiting human beings can ask different puppy proprietors in the event that they have any ideas on the thank you to handle the subject and ask for regularly occurring suggestion. If it would not get greater efficient then the subsequent option is the vet. some human beings do have some hum dingers on right here, yet for the main section the questions are solid, valid ones.

Hello! Your kitty is not sick but, she is 51/2 and by this time, her licking is very normal because she is beginning her menstrual cycle and developing her teens. Female felines are much different from males. Also cuddle her once in a while so she could feel more at ease and be careful when she goes outside. Soon she will be 61/2 months and began her heat instinct. Female felines could develop as fast as that age their sexual needs. Try to have her more inside the home than outside and it will be better for her since you took her baby. You could also have her nutter as soon as her 6 mo. About the meow, is for all mentioned above and some attention. Remember...kitties are always in the need for affection and they always see us as if we were big cats too.(Don't take me wrong please, I read that once and understood then the reason why in most of the cases, felines act funny towards human beings) When you see her going to a small part on any place of your home, it means in most of the time that the spot they had chosen is where they want you to find them in case you look for them. If you train her by calling her name at that time she is there...She will respond. Also try ways to please her and observe. Believe me, you will be surprise on how they communicate with us. Talk to her, cuddle her and let her know you care. You could also purr with her and try playing with her.I had felines since I was a child and I used to have females and learn alot about their ways. Now I have two boys and of course, males are diferent, they have lots of love and I am very happy with them...They are happy ones too. Try what I had explain you and you will see the change and you will be very happy for her. Good luck!

Is she almost 6 months old? Might be changes in behavior associated with puberty and coming into heat. Be sure to have her spayed at 6 months of age.

I'm not very sure that it sounds like she is sick, hmmm. Maybe she just has some behavioral issues. I do know that I've read in my cat care book that I received when I adopted my cat about 6 months ago that you should keep your sick cat warm. I hope you figure things out!

It could be a number of things, something she ate disagreeing with her, parasites, an ear infection, anything. The best thing to do is take her to the vet, and let them check her out. Good luck.

If she's meowing and acting weird I think she's in heat. She's not only trying to get your attention, but all the boy kitty's in the neighborhood...Keep her inside!!! Now you have to wait until her cycle is over to get her spayed.

Good Luck!

Well if you already took her to the vet she is probably fine. Maybe she is just going through a stage, like kids do going through puberty! LOL:)
