Don't let him off leash. Even for a trained dog it is dangerous. You cannot control what comes after him when he's offleash. You need to teach him some basic obedience, and that includes the "come" command.

If the dog lacked consistent training while growing up, you have a tough problem on your hands. When you let him off the leash, you are witnessing what his untrained freedom looks like. I think you must keep him on the leash and train him for many days so he learns to obey, then try slowly with the freedom thing.

Don't let him off leash unless you are in a fenced in area. It's the safest thing for your dog. Dogs off leash in the house is fine, because there are no cars... Keep him on the leash if he doesn't listen to you.

Even the most well trained dogs can get hurt while off leash, if they are chasing something, they won't pay attention to potential dangers around them. Don't let your dog off leash.

Unless you have a very well trained dog, you should NOT let them off the leash. That is what the leash and leash law is for. If something were to happen and he bit someone or another dog, or they just SAID he did...you could be on the hook for lots of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep him on the leash, there is a leash law in every state. Unless you don't live in the states, I wouldn't know the rules there.

You have to train your dog to come to you. Every time he obeys, give Dudley a treat. If you keep doing this, your dog will surely like you more and definetly WILL come to you.

this will sound corney but I suggest you watch the dog whisperer a few times and find a course of action for his running off.
