(NOT ripped off a web site somewhere.)
very basic quiche
1 cup milk -- or, for a richer quiche, 1 c cream
3 eggs
Add
1 cup grated cheese
1 cup of your preferred vegetable
(try Swiss and mushrooms, feta and spinach, cheddar and onion...)
Pour into a pie shell (for a crispier crust, put it in the oven at 400F for five minutes before filling), bake for about 45 minutes.
Show-offy it is not, but it's a reliable formula, and easy to play around with. http://www.epicurious.com/ will get you better recipes than a Google search for "quiche," too.
