If you sponsor a dog from a shelter this means that you only have the dog temporarily until someone decides that they want the dog or you can decide to adopt it. It is like a foster child but differs because it is a dog. The shelter will put you through a whole interview process before they will let you sponsor the dog. You can also donate money or food or whatever is needed but you will not have the benefit of getting to know and loving the dog, but that is OK too. As long as there are more people out there that are willing to do anything for an animal that has been abandoned, abused or neglected I think that is wonderful. Thank you and good luck.

If you adopt the dog it is yours. You Will own it and it will not stay at the shelter. When you rescue a dog you are buying it and giving it a good home but careing for it.

I think this could be the cutest question I've ever seen. When you adopt a dog you get to take it home with you. I would recommend it highly...especially if you're looking into getting a dog. There are many shelters that are too full and the pets needs some good homes.

If you adopt a dog from the shelter it is yours and goes home with you.
If you sponsor a dog in rescue or shelter then you are paying for it's care but not taking it home with you.
We have people who travel or can not have a dog at the present time but htey sponsor a dog in our rescue and it helps by paying for it's medical and food bills.

When you adopt a dog at the shelter it is your dog. You take it home with you and are responsible for feeding it, playing with it, getting its shots and making sure that it stays healthy, by taking it to the vet on a regular basis.

If you adopt the dog it is yours to take home. But you should go to the pound because they are put down earlier and it is cheaper. I rescue dogs weekly, I do get some from the humane society, but it is very expensive and they dont put them down faster. I adopt from the pound... it is only 35$ and they get to live.

If you adopt the dog, your then taking it home with you to be your own companion. Its pretty much exactly the same process you take when adopting a child.

The whole point of adopting out the animals is so they can make room for others..........you take the animal home with you, you don't just get visitation rights.
