yes the electrolyte deficiency syndrome is rare most of the time you are dead when it's found out in my case they think it's a defect from birth caused by mineral deficiency have my bloods done every month and then if low am put on fluid restrictions was on 1000ml now 1500ml if it drops am back down so its just common sense although have always had problems with blood and yes my spelling is not great

Hi I don't think that is weird at all, I feel the same way. I had kidney failure and was on dialysis, I had a kidney transplant in Feb this year. It certainly puts a different outlook on life and what is important and what isn't. I am glad you feel this way, it's a great feeling to have. So many people take the health and life for granted.
Hope everything goes well for you, best of luck. JJ

When you say that "help has been offered but I declined." I am really confused by this...you say that you want to get well but you don't want to leave your "safety zone" which is really your obsessive compulsive zone. You have an anxiety and an obsessive compulsive disorder with food. This obsession is controlling you and what you do with your life. While this control seems comfortable, you don't like being dependent on it because you clearly understand why it is abnormal and it is holding you back from becoming fully functional as an adult. To cure this, you will need a good therapist and possibly short term medication. But here again, you say that money is a problem. So, please call your local county's Board of Health and ask where their local mental health department is located and get their phone number. They will see you on a sliding scale basis and they have good professional people there. Remember that no one can sprinkle you with pixie dust and make this all better. It will take a lot of hard work and dedication on your part to take responsibility for this and get it treated successfully. Also, look into nutritional education for yourself. Taking an online course in this or checking out websites with information about nutrition can help you make better choices for your food and you will be more comfortable with what you choose to eat. I wish you all the best.

Please could you tell me how you have come to suffer from electrolyte deficiency 'syndrome' - I'd love to know purely as a health professional with the only experience I have had of of this being with over-trained athletes - is it some kind of genetic digestive disorder? Anyway, more power to your elbow.

Good for you..
Too many people are quick to moan at he slightest thing these days and the majority of people don't realise how lucky they are to be in good health.
You should be proud of yourself and you obvoisly love yourself.
