This is my stomach -

And this is what I plan on doing to lose it -
- walk for 45 minutes 6 times a week (brisk walking)
-do abdominal exercises every other day
- Cut down on my daily food intake, and cut out all junk food. I'll be eating 5 small meals a day, and drink 6 glasses of water a day.
- I will probably do around 15 minutes of jump roping or running around the backyard when I get up in the morning as well, to speed up my metabolism before I eat.
So, How long would it take until I saw results? And how long until I had a flat stomach?

first and foremost you will lose the weight but only because you will deprive yourself-that is why the French women eat and do not deprive themselves but stay active every day by walking miles and miles vs. driving a car and are thin! if it were me i would opt for 55 minutes of brisk walking in the beginnng and then to start jogging slowly! walking will do so much but jogging at a decent pace that you can keep up with burns 10% more calories than walking! eat some junk food, except that you might need to make some small changes in the way you eat! pick fat free salad dressing over regular, reduced fat peanut butter over the normal-it is actually good for you if used in small quantities since it is a form of protein and that is what i do, eat i tablespoon of PB if all i have is a salad that day! buy the baked lays and not the regular, drink tons of water-and i mean tons especially when you work out. also, cut down on the sugar big times: sodas and sweets! have everything in moderation but do not go on a crazy diet because if you give up what you love when you see it you will over eat it! instead of 5 cookies, eat 1 or 2 max! if you want to cut down even more how you eat, drink a glass or 2 of water before a meal since it will fill you up and therefore you end up eating less! read the labels since if you work out and eat the same stuff there is no result! eat 5 small meals a day and 3 small snacks-i stick with fruits like sliced apples, a banana or an orange since they are the best and healthiest choice for you! by the way you need 8 glasses of water min. a day and if you work out make that 10-14 glasses since you will be so dehydrated and losing water ! as for starting your metabolism food will do the trick and it is something we like to call breakfast! have a nutrigrain or granola bar as your break fast and that will speed up your metabolism! what else you can do is to wake up 2 hours before school starts and go jogging or brisk walking for 55 minutes or 1 hour! do the same before dinner since if you work out and then have dinner within 1 hour period after you finished working out your metabolism is at its peak therefore buning carbs and such! and if work out eat pasta by the way since that is what the body is use for energy. as for the ab works those are going to be hard since i am like you and need to get back in shape eventhough i am in tip top shape! try doing 600 crunches every time! that is 300 regular crunches and 300 reverse crunches!if you opt for that many a day you increase your chance of getting back to a flat stomach in less time: give it a couple of months! it took me 6-8 weeks to get a flat stomach with watching what i eat, and doing both cardio and weights and ab work but i almost had a 6pack which is awesome ! do 20-30 minutes of ab work and i know that it will sound like a lot since it is but take your time and do the reps correctly! i do 20-25 reps/ set and 20-30 sets depending on how motivated i am that day.oh, and by the way you can do ab work every day since unlike your other muscles your abs could be worked out every day of the week for the best results!good luck.

Star is correct... you can shape up the abs all you want, but if you still have a fat layer above, you won't see them. If the results you are looking for are to lose fat/ inches off your waist... you need to have a good diet and do cardio training to burn off your body's fat stores. There is no "spot reduction" for fat... fat is burned from everywhere in the body, not just one place. That's why people get discouraged when trying to lose weight/fat and are only looking at their waist for results. The places you have the most fat are the places that it will take the longest for you to see results (as opposed to places with less fat... arms, face, etc). And if you are looking for well defined abs ala fitness model abs, your body fat % has to be a lot lower than what is average (yes, average means normal). You can be at a fitness or athlete level of body fat and still not have all the definition. It takes a lot of work on your diet and food choices, and getting the cardio in.
