I had a very similar USB PCI card in my old Win98 Box, and it had a very special driver made by the manufacturer, starting Ali- or something like that.

After install from disc this Ali- thing showed up under USB controllers in Device Manager (Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager). I think that driver will be vital to make the thing work.

Check the FCC number on the PCI card and search for its manufacturer - I bet it's ALI - they are (or were) the largest producer of these cards several years ago.

However it could be made by NEC and branded as Orange or Net-Lynx. Get a free account at Driverguide (www.driverguide.com) to look for the right driver for the manufacturer and card - you might be lucky.

Hope you have some joy!

You may need to go to "My computer", on the start button before you put the disk into the drive to begin, then go to "add programs". Do not rely on the install wiz to take you there. Also, its just a machine, don't let it get the best of you.

Try going onto the manufacturer website and download the drivers as they may be more up to date
