many people have a problem. you are ahead of the
pack if you are smart enough to recognize that you
have a problem. first of all stop drinking entirely. it is
the only way since most of us with a problem cannot
stop with taking one. if you need help do not hesitate
to ask for it. many ministers are trained to help; there
are treatment facilities; probably the best known is AA;
they have a good track record especially with those
who are determined not to let alcohol be in charge of
their lives.

Tons and tons and tons of answers to these questions. Perhaps there is an emotional scar you enjoy covering up by drinking, or perhaps you drink to calm your nerves, or you drink because you think you've hit rock bottom or perhaps you just like getting buzzed for a party.. and the list continues. Getting over drinking requires you to have a lot of faith in yourself and friends that will help you out. telling yourself "i'm going to quit tomorrow" or "one more drink can't hurt" is the type of attitude that will make you remain an alcoholic for life.

Its hard to answer that because its such an individualized thing. Just like any other form of addiction, alcoholism can result from many different things. It could be a result of environment, stresses, or some would argur, genetics. It could also be your way of self-medicating. You could be using the alcohol as a way to either escape or enhance your daily life.

I would suggest looking online for local meetings of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). If you want to go a different route you could try seeking counseling or other local support groups.

I wish you luck!

maybe you should go see a pyscharist or counselor...and you can express your feelings about drinking to them. and maybe they can help you with your problem.but rememeber your mind has to be made up.nobody can help you unless you want to help yourself.
