You've already got the Catholics are Christian part, so biggest difference of Catholics from other Christian religions:

Catholics believe:

1. Christ descended into hell after his death to redeem the virtuous who had died before him.
2. Saints (many Christian faiths regard this as idolatry)
3. The host given during communion at mass IS the body of Christ (most believe it represents him)
4. The pope is head honcho on Earth (and infallible)
5. Women cannot serve as priests
6. Priests cannot marry
7. Priests hear your confession

Individual Catholic people can be Christian despite belonging to a church that is in great apostasy. The Catholic church as run by the Vatican is no more Christian now then it was during the middle ages when it slew the saints of the most high and burned heretics at the stake.

Catholicism is a mix of paganism and christianity. This makes it all the more dangerous because it is a wolf in sheep's clothing, claiming to be Christian when in reality it is antiChrist. AntiChrist means, in place of Christ, not against Christ. The Catholic system of confession to a priest and mass all mimic Christ's high priestly ministry for us in the heavenly sanctuary. Notice how the antiChrist power in Revelation 13:1-11 craves the worship of the world, something only God can require of us. It is clearly a combination of church and state. It even reigns 3 1/2 years, the same length of time as Christ's ministry here on earth.
The Catholic church would love to gather her children (other religions that have left her fold) under her wings. This is the essence of ecumenism. Do not be fooled. We are called out of Babylon for she is fallen. There can be no union between Christ and antiChrist

This is probably going to anger, and hurt someone, but here goes. There is no difference between Catholics, and Christians. Religion, and loving God is different though. I was once religious. One day a small unkempt lady came into our church. I wanted to go and greet her, but our pastor did not want anyone to walk across the alter. The little old lady left. I felt bad because I knew that Jesus had sent her. I did nothing. That is how Christians, and Catholics, and all so-called lovers of God are. Just like me, no different

If you want to read for yourself, the difference between the Catholic and Protestant movements, then you may want to read a book that is record of first-person accounts of the frictions between the groups in the mid 1550's.

What occurred split the Catholic Church and began the Reformation period (when the Protestant Christian Churches began).

It's an easy read, since it is divided into personal accounts of individuals and what happened to them during this very volatile time in religious history. The sacrifices, risks, witnessing, murders, politics and injustices. You can read it in chapter order, or just skip around. This is not an easy read to absorb.

Go to any book site, library, discounter. It is called:

"Foxe's Book of Martyrs" in full document as "Foxe's Acts and Monuments of the Christian Church", circa 1684. Author John Foxe.

Again, I reiterate, these are factual accounts from witness accounts as these things occurred. Not just word-of-mouth. The Book of Martyrs use to accompany the Holy Bible in Christian homes as a standard read.

Like ALL Prunes are Plum, but not all Plums are Prunes...All Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholics.

Okay, enough for my Dad's old humor/ logic...

By Definition, Christians are believers in Christ.

Simplified History: The Catholic Church was founded by Saint Peter... it has hence fractured into the Holy Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches (Orthodox).

The Episcopalians (Church of England) spun off from the Roman Church when the King of England.

Lutheranism... the first Protestant church came about when German monk (Martin Luther) took offense (protested) at the Catholic Church's policies of simony and indulgences (look it up).

The remainder of Protestant churches are off-shoots there of.

Without the Catholics, Christianity would have died.
You know very well what the the different beliefs are how the churches are different; you just hate catholics. I hope you don't call yourself a Christian because Christians don't hate..neither do they throw the first stone.

Catholics celebrate the sacrifice of the Mass like Jesus did at the Last Supper...
" Do this in memory of Me"
...I don't know how other Christian churches celebrate

LOTS. Catholics put too much emphasis on Mary, who isn't important, and do a lot of chanting, holiness, taking communion once a month, etc... Christians are looser. I beleive being a christian is right.
