Yuma is a friend of mine, she's 21. She's been with her boyfriend Charles for four years now. (On and off, actaully). But she was proposed to a couple of days ago and she hasn't replied yet. Her parents don't like Charles because he's 30. He's mature, but I don't know if its so good to be married with such an age diffrence...Any advice?

I had a friend, she was 19, married a 39-year-old man... it's all up to them. In any case, let her make her own mistakes.

9 years is not that big of a difference, and I wouldn't be worried about the age anyway. I'd be worried that they are on again off again. I don't think anyone that starts off that way has much of a chance of a successful marriage. And a 26 year old with a 17 year old is a little creepy...

I think that your friend would be too young to get married now. I have seen too many marriages fall apart because the couple was too inexperienced and young. You have to get out there and live life, live on your own and experience hardship and then when you have lived life and are capable of sharing it with another person, doesnt matter how much older they are, you may be ready to get married.

i think they should get married if they want to. she is old enough to make her own decisions, and if they love each other that much they have a right to get married and if her parents don't like it then oh well they don't control her and her life.
