Yes. The rule is where your more sensitive to temperature the more it will hurt.

I have one that goes all the way across my entire upper back from one shoulder to the other, and up onto the back of my neck. It only hurt on the shoulder blades and back of the neck. Everything in between was a piece of cake. And there is a LOT of detail and a LOT of color. Depends on your pain tolerance. I am 95 pounds, and my back is very bony. But I have found that is the easiest place for me to get tattooed for some reason. How bad it hurts just depends on who you ask.

"Anyone who says a Tattoo doesn't hurt is a LIAR!" -Ryan Metcalf, my brother's Good friend on the day I got my first Tattoo and had asked the same question.
Mostly, it's a little uncomfortable and of course the location will depend on how much pain you really feel.

well it all depends on your painthreshold and where abouts you get the tatoo done. yes they hurt because theres a needle puncturing the skin thousands of times. the outline tends to hurt abit more cas it goes deeper into the skin.
also if you choose to get your tattoo on ankle or spine or very close to a bone that will hurt more than just say on your upper arm.

I have numerous tattoos and I did think any of them hurt. Some people think that they hurt on bony areas but since I don't have on there I don't know if it is true

Depending on how big it is and where it is, yes and no...If it is anywhere close or on a bone then YES...those hurt very badly. Ones on your feet and mid-back hurt the worst. I have one on the side of my back about the size of a silver dollar and it wasn't bad at all. It only took about 6 minutes to complete...

Really depends. I've had two and neither of them hurt badly. It kind of felt like being scratched repetitively by a cat.

The pain kind of dulls after a few minutes, though.

Yes, it hurts, the outline is carved in with a needle that looks like a knife and the color applied by needles poking into the skin...I love it.

depends on where you get the tattoo, size, details, colors...etc. also depends on the tattoo artist too.
