Hamburger casserole: 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef, left-over mashed potatoes or else instant mashed potatoes- 2 cups, 1 can of green beans, drained, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, small onion, chopped. Preheat oven to 350* , grease or spray a 9x 13 baking pan. Put your ground beef and onion in a skillet and brown the meat until pink is gone, then put on bottom of the 9 x 13 pan, then the mashed pot., then the green beans, then the soup, to which you have added 1/2 cup milk, and put in the oven for 30minutes. Then take out and sprinkle the cheese on top and put back in about 10- 15 min. or until cheese is melted.

Tacos or burritos. Whatever you have in the fridge, with meat or without, with cheese or without, hot or cold. You can wrap a tortilla around anything and eat it, now you know why it's one of the most popular foods in the world. And, they are fun to eat so you don't care that they are filled with a small amount of cheap meat, or a spoonful of cooked veggies or scrambled eggs or whatever!

For really really tight budgets, student tight...there is a book out by a college student with over a hundred different recipes to make out of top ramen. Don't remember what the title was.

Also, spam is big in hawaii, served in hundreds of ways, also very economical. Go to their website.

I like this easy and good recipe for crockpot or you can make it on the stovetop. Get one package of smoked sausage and cut in pieces, add one can of sauerkraut, and some peeled potatoes. Cook in crockpot until potatoes are done. Makes a good meal with a green vegetable added to the menu. Good luck.

Spaghetti with meat sauce or meatless. Fajitas--sautee chicken strips with onion & pepper strips ijn taco seasoning & serve on tortillas.
Mac & cheese plain, or with diced ham, browned burger, cooked chicken or even pepperoni.
Meatloaf, tacos, sloppy joes.
Porcupine meatballs: mix a handful of minute rice into a # of burger, form into balls, and bake in 2 cans of tomato soup. (kids LOVE these, as the rice pops out like porcupine needles)
