In addition to teaching English to non-natives, we should start teaching Spanish in Kindergarten to everyone. There's plenty of time for it between the naps and arts and crafts and learning a second language at a very early age has innumberable benefits.

In Texas it is common courtesy to pull to the shoulder of the road when a vehicle is coming from behind you at a faster rate. I have not seen this done in any other state. We also like to wave at everyone. That's where the term drive Texas Friendly comes from. If you are out for a scenic drive and someone else is in a hurry you let them pass. It makes the roads safer. However not everyone does this. I think it should be made a traffic violation not to yield to the right to a faster driver.
Now I'm not saying its safe to speed, I'm talking about vehicles that are going slower than that of the posted speed limit should yield to those doing the speed limit.
For example: If I am driving 55 mph in a posted 70 mph speed zone, then I should pull to the shoulder when a car doing 70 mph wants to pass me. If I do not pull to the shoulder, then I could be given a traffic ticket.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I was told that Texas has more death row inmates then any other state. If so, perhaps a law that allows life with no chance of parole option to the jury. Notice I am not saying to change the law about the death penalty.
