I've just had a bath, got water in my ear, and now I can't hear properly.

What do I do?

Many thanks.

ok dont laugh, but this summer I lived in our pool, and every night I had water in my ear. I would stand with my the ear in question facing the bed and through myself onto it. I guess the impact brings the water out. Might sound silly but it worked.

This is called "Swimmer's Ear". Shake your head to remove water from the ear canal. Gently dry your ears with the corner of a tissue. If this doesn't work, try a few drops of rubbing alcohol with the same amount of white vinegar in the ear. Wiggle your ear and let the liquid enter the ear canal then let it drain out. It should dry it out. There are some over the counter products for this at your local pharmacy. Just ask the pharmacist.

It is essential that we have all the vitamins and minerals that our body needs to function properly.

But sometimes, because of wrong food choices, the human body does not receive all the essential nutrients.

For example, if you are not getting adequate Vitamin B, then you might develop tinnitus.

Luckily however, Vitamin B is easily obtainable from grains, cereals, vegetables and fruits.

So always ensure that your eating plan includes them. Eat a well balanced meal that includes all the food groups.

A supplement can never work as well as the natural food source.

Sound Masking - This is a unique approach to provide you some relief from the tinnitus noises.

Those who suffer from tinnitus often report the problem worsening in the night. This happens because the silence of the night seems to intensify the noises heard. A masking device plays some soft natural noises that are pleasant on the ear. It is as if you are hearing some channel music at the hotel lobby or listening to your favorite composer through the earphone. The unpleasant swishing, buzzing and constant ringing is thus blocked.

Alternative tinnitus treatments may work. But there's a problem. In most cases, when using alternative remedies for tinnitus, the root contributing factors that caused all those noises remain, and so the sounds will come back as soon as you have stopped following these treatments.

The only way you could ever get rid of your tinnitus for good is by following the holistic approach to healing. By using a multidimensional treatment for tinnitus, we are tackling all tinnitus causative factors and eliminating these triggering elements from the root. This is the only path for permanent freedom from tinnitus.

Well if it is in one ear then you will be able to get it out in half the time. Try jumping up and down with the afflicted ear (and your head) pointing towards the ground. You don't need to jump high or violently, just rapidly and make solid contact with the ground. If this fails, try laying on your side with your afflicted ear against your pillow. If you have water in both ears you will have to follow the same steps for each ear.

Put a couple of drops of rubbing alcohol in your ear or on a cotton ball and place it in your ear, the alcohol will evaporate the water. You don't want to use a Q-tip, because of the risk of damaging your ear drum.

this happens to me all the time when i swim! just tilt your head to the side with the affected ear on the exposed side, i.e if the one affected is the right ear, tilt your head to the left. drop about 2-3 drrops of water on the ear affected then when you hear/ feel something like water moving inside the ear, turn your head quickly so that the water would come out.

I always put the ear that has water in it up then down very fast. Or, you can put the ear with water in it down and shake you head rapidly.

if you put a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and let like 2 drips go in your ear, let that sit for like 3 second and then just flop your head over so it pours out, that alway s worked for me... and plus it also cleans the chlorine and other crap out of your ears..

Okay well here's a great option, since it's worked everytime I've gotten water in my ear(s)! Okay, standing up straight, turn your head to the side of which ear the water is in. Now, say the water is in your right ear. You want to turn your head to the right and kick(shake) your left leg. It has to be the opposite of which ear the water is in. So vise-versa, if the water is in your left ear you will want to turn your head to the left and kick or shake your right leg. Trust me, it will work!
