If the redish color was -a RINSE meaning the color rinses out in like 15 shampoos then yes you can relax, if the color was PERMANENT or SEMI-PERMENET meaning it has chemicals then NO wait 5-7 weeks from when you first put the hair color in.

Get the color dark ash brown. Ash brown is a cool tone that will lift the red out. The color only seems dark at first, but after a week your hair it will be a nice brown. Trust me because I had the same problem. The red became your rooted color and that is why it doesn't go away. And Emily does have a point that ash will turn your hair green or something- that is- ONLY if you use medium ash or light ash. GET DARK ASH BRowN. I trial and errored it to get this far and know that . good luck

YES! Just coloring does damage to your hair. Just relaxing does damage to your hair. I would (as would most hairdressers) suggest relaxing it first, waiting a week or two, then coloring. Perhaps with some deep conditioning, or keratin hair reconstructor in between.

YEP!!! dont do it girl...relax your hair and then color two weeks later...always relax before u color so that u dont strip the color. there is only one type of color that i have seen that u can do the same time as the relaxer...u could probably do a rinse but it would wash out so if u want something semi-permanent or permanent...TRUST ME!!! relax then color AT LEAST TWO WEEKS. one of my friends made that unfortunate mistake and had to shave her hair off because the hair fell out in clumps...i mean shaved bald....so believe me

I don't think you can color & relax your hair on the same day. I think you have to wait a week.

Never put a relaxer over color.

it would be pointless bacause when you color it and relax it the relaxer is such a strong chemical that most of the color is going to come out when you relax it the best thing is to relax it then wait 1-2 weeksbefore coloring it.

You should wait at least a week between each treatment. If you don't wait you are going to damage your hair really bad.

unless you want to go bald soon, i wouldnt recommend it. but if you insist on doing them anyway in one day, you need to relax first then color... if you can wait, relax your hair first and wait at least a week to color. but like i said, i wouldnt recommend doing both. goodluck!

I've always been told to relax before color. But hell, I heard that from my mother and grandmother. . .
