I do plan to fill out the FAFSA for any smartasses out there, but I wanted to check out any other sources as well.

You can consider grants from private foundations

For private grants, you may want to check the Foundation Center's Foundation Grants for Individuals Online. It's a subscription based website ($9.95 per month) and their opening blurb says that the database is ideal for "students, artists, academic researchers, libraries and financial aid offices."

All Fed programs (and hence, all State programs) use the FAFSA. The only college that I know of that doesn't use the FAFSA is Hillsdale College in Michigan, and that is because they don't accept any government aid, even the stuff that comes with students.

The only things remaining would be some sort of private scholarship, and those are usually contained in books at the library.

I'm curious -- why would you NOT want to fill ou tthe FAFSA? Income taxes not done? Hiding from the Gov't.? Don't want to spend the time?

It depends on what college to which you plan on going. Some places require just the FAFSA, while others also require the CSS PROFILE from collegeboard.com. Most college websites will let you know how to get money for college.
