They are a little too busy losing a war in Iraq thanks to George W. Bush and friends who never served and made sure their children never served either.

I have to say you are right. I would much rather see more border patrol, than a fence. If the military patrolled the borders we would not have this problem today. And they would be policing illegal immigrants, not Americans. Unless, It gets any worse here, then I would be the first to hop the fence into Mexico.

Because they take no bull s____. That is the reason the military doesn't patrol our borders. Remember Redford, TX that poor goat herder. Military equals too many RAMBOS.

Millitary is better to patrol the border than any fence, and it provides good training for fighting in the middle east. The millitary on the Mexican border should take on drug runners, coyotes in the job of explitation. A fence is useless to me because we have enoguh millitary people to perform the job. We need a immigration reform to reflect the source of are immigration. Have non-bordering countries visa critiera tightened up with more transparent immigration laws. Create a seperate work visa pool for Mexico and Canada to allow people wanting to work. Then the millitary is just left with criminals sneaking in, and drug runners. I dont blame the poor migrant from Southern Mexicowanting to work, but we need to take the incentive of smuggling for profit from the coyotes in Mexico with more legal channels. Its the drug runners, coyotes, and curropt police, and OTMs other than Mexicans that are security theart. Put 40,000 troops on the border to patrol and chase down drug runners, and allow the millitary into Mexcian border towns to catch, and arrest drug runners. Also, Untied States and Mexico, Canada should build a central crime database , and police database on people convicted of crimes, and central database of registered police officers, so that if a curropt cop in Mexico or the Untied States we can out quicker who been doing not so legal things. Gonna need to coorperation with Mexican, and American police officers who arent curropt to find out who the rotten apples are.

The military should be used to patrol the borders. It's ridiculous how weakly protected this country is.

Right now we're in the midst of planning a North American Union, like the EU. I guess the thinking right now is to blur the border, while appearing to secure it.

Frightening stuff, at least if you're like me and are opposed to the idea of a north american union. This has been kept on the DL, I'd like to see some kind of in depth story done on this SPP.

I have a problem with the American Military policing Americans. We can put the guard dolls on the border, I'm cool with that, but not our active duty regulars.

It creates a negative image of the country to tourists and other governments and the citizens of the world to have a militarized border.

Huh.
How about Korea?
Or Berlin?

It amazes me how ignorant the average citizen is. Especially one who served in the military and should know better.
