Getting one exactly in your town may be asking a bit much.

First of all, what is the need?. You want to be able to adopt a dog that is suitable for your life style. There are shelters for any type of specific breed of dog. I adopted my Sheltie from Indiana Sheltie Shelter. He is wonderful although he has his little weirdities but I love him so much. I can't quite figure out some of the things that bother him but I can only think that he wasn't taken care of very well, possibly abused, because he is very needy and protective but extremely friendly. He is my best friend, no doubt.

This is the Bearded Collie Club of the US they have rescues all over the US. Just click on Virginia and scroll down you can contact the people for VA. There are 2 of them

puppyfind.com is for breeders if you go there you are not adopting a dog, you are buying one. www.petfinder.com is the best one it is only for homeless pets in shelters and rescues!!

Well me and my bf had alot of trouble with petfinder.com and puppyfind.com ... we found ALOT of scams. We finally found one on www.nextdaypets.com
I would look there. You can search by state. So that helps! Good luck!
