I think like any other type of food - too much of something can often be bad. It depends on the type of Pizza. If you are eating a veggie pizza (slices...not the whole pizza :-) that would generally be healthier than if you were eating the Dominos stuffed-crust, all meat monster Pizza. The more meat and cheese on the pizza, the more fat. Thin crust has less carbs than thick or pan crust.

Good example:

Look at pizza in Italy - almost cracker-thin crust with a light covering of tomato sauce and cheese, then covered with veggies or meat in moderation. Average fat per slice: 2-4 grams. Average calories per slice: 60-85.

by comparison -

Meat Lover's Pizza (offered at Pizza Hut, Round Table, Little Caesar's by various names) - with tons of cheese, processed tomato sauce, and 1/2-pound or more of various deli meats and sausages: Average fat per slice: 10-35 grams. Average calories per slice: 100-500+

So in general if you are eating a "healthy" pizza versus the typical "stuff as much as you can on top" variety, you are better off eating the former, but it still ultimately comes down to how much you eat, how often and what if any exercise you get.

All that said - I'm going to go order one right now and try to limit myself to less than half the pizza...:-) God help me...!

Good Luck!

pizza is verstile and so much more to choose from u should not worry too much think that its way healthier then deep fried chicken and fries and it has vegetables and herbs and calcium and protein and all the things u need even tomato fruit

U should think one slice is eqauled to 365 and mcdonalds burger is 290 from happy meal to -590 when u go larger so its way better then some of those meals and so much nutrtionist rather then a deep fried greasy burger with fries and all those bad things

U can get a pizza like whole wheat dough for the crust white pizza with spinach and or broccoli pizza so good and good for u
u can do wheat calzones and u can opt to make a pizza urself with carb constious tomato sauce fat free cheese healthy veges like peppers onions and u can use turkey sausage or turkey pepperoni and garlic powder and all the herbs to spice things up

Everything in moderation... I don't think pizza is bad for you, but too much cheese (fat), crust (white flour, so A LOT of carbs.) is NOT good for you. I mean, if you eat a piece or two a week I doubt it will kill you unless you are on a restricted diet...

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

NO, first of all it's cooked, this kills a lot of good stuff in the food, second the processed carbs are close to cement, the cheese is cheep and has very little nutritional value, you really don't want to know where the meat comes from, to much oil for the body and the oil slows down the absorption of the calcium. Raw vegetables are way better for you. Soda pop steals calcium from your bones too.

Well it also has cholesterol(cheese and any meats) and carbs can be bad in large amounts, and the only things which are virtually competely healthy are vegetables.

A pizza a day keeps the doctor away! Look at this way, as long as you exercise, you can eat anything you want to - in moderation. Your body needs a variety. Follow that food pyramid!

Besides, a whole country of Italians who have a very long life expectancy can't be wrong. ;)

It MUST be bad for us: it tastes good.

Now, if you dick around with it, and change the crust to whole wheat, and use that stinkin' low-fat cheese, take off the meat and put green vegetables on it, it might be considered healthy.

You can tell because it will taste conpletely unlike pizza.

I've never heard that. If it IS bad for you, I'm soooo dead! lol

Pizza has a lot of nutrition, assuming you're not talking about eating a large Xtra cheese, double sausage-pepperoni all by yerself!

Lots of diet plans include various pizzas. U go right ahead & have some! Cheers :)

If you make it homemade, then no, not really. But if you buy it from domino's or pizza hut then yes (because of the preservatives and poor quality products used).

Look on the back off the pizza box. Depending on what kind of pizza you're eating at the time... Calories can range from 150-400 calories per slice of pizza. And, 150-300 fat calories per piece. Add it up, if you're a male your daily calorie intake is 2,200. And, if you're a female is about 1,300.
NO PIZZA IS NOT HEALTHY!!!
