I was recruited a few months ago and got my license and was promised that even if I only have 2 appointments a week I would make $2000/month.......so far it's not happening. I found that my "circle" of friends and family are running out very quickly and that primericas products are kinda pricey when compared to others. also, I go to the meetings because they said that's the only way I'll learn, but I haven't learned a thing about selling insurance or other products. All I hear at the meetings is how great primerica is, what a good opportunity it is, how its so important to get recruits and how much more money I can make if I get more licenses. Kinda like a big pep rally. I'd rather be home with my son. Any comments on experience with primerica either positive or negative would be helpful. I have no money and I have a 10 month old to care for & I would like to know if I am wasting my time. Thanks!

heh, i'm in the same situation as you. I got no place to go. But you know what? All the RVPs went through the same crap we're going through. I've been in the company for couple of years and I made some money here and there, but not all the time. So, what I'm doing now is looking for a job and keep the Primerica business as backup.

I still attend weekly training and I guess every office is run differently. At the office I attend to, they talk about various product like how the SMART loan works and the difference between cash value vs. term. They also talk about why you need to recruit and they sell you on the RVP dream. Sometimes they talk about how to overcome objections, how to talk to your guests, and how to setup your goals. While the meetings sound repititive, they are useful when a time comes when someone comes up to you and ask you for advice. If they aren't teaching you anything at the meeting, then go on primericaonline.com and learn the products yourself.

I haven't work that hard at Primerica because I'm still trying to figure out what I should do with my life. I don't have any motivation or any reason why I'm doing this. I have plenty of savings tuck away. So money is not important to me. Plus I'm only 23 yrs old. For you, you have a son. You should fight for your son's future. If you work hard for the next 5 years, 7 days a week, you will become RVP and don't have to worry about money. Work consists of calling people, scheduling guests and appointments, and doing the appointment. This is what my SNSD did and I haven't made the decision to do what he did.

You said you are running out of places to go. I suggest learning the 6 page and go back to your family and friends for referrals (or redo the appointment). Someone out there is paying too much for life insurance, someone is looking to pay off their debt sooner, everyone needs a FNA to help them reach their dreams and goals, and someone is looking to buy a home.

I don't know if you are securities licensed yet, but if you are, you can definetly help everyone you know. You can do some rollovers, setup IRA accounts, move their money around into funds that meet their objectives, do 1035 exchanges, and even setup college fund. Every person who is working should have an IRA. With Securities license, you get paid in 4 different ways: 1) Initial sales 2) Systematic Investment Plan (Dollar cost averaging) that pays you every month 3) 12b-1 fees (the bigger your assets under management, the more money you make) 4) Overrides (that is, when you get recruits who gets securities licensed).

If you have no place to go, then you need to do something that everyone hates to do: Prospecting and then calling these prospects up. I do this sometime, but not all the time because its nerve wrecking and sometimes I freeze and have no clue what to say. Anyway, keep trying and don't give up.

I actually work with another company, but I heard the ceo of primamerica speak at our convention. He was awesome. He supports us and we support them. Let me just give you a little advice. I am in a similar business, but we work with a different product. Never listen to promises or make promises. Each person's success is based on how well they do. Also, do not quit. Most people in our type of business average 3 years before they see great success. You are doing al the right things, you just have to stay motivated. I did have someone from your company come and speak with me, but it was not something I was interested in. I can see where it could work though. Find networking luncheons in your area or something like that. I might be able to help you find some if you just let me know where you are. Most of all, do not give up. If you have only been in it for a few months, chances are it will be a year or two before you really see the income come in. If you ever need just some support, please email me, I know just what you are going through!

Personally, they creep me out. They use a very "pep rally" flavored approach that smacks of mind control. It is possible to make money through them, but there are several things about the company I don't like. One is, as you noted, the price of their products. The primary problem for me though is that you have to stop and ask yourself why a company puts so much more emphasis on recruiting other people to sell Primerica than it does the actual selling of their products. If I were you I would take my license and seek employment with a more reputable firm that doesn't rely on high pressure prosperity preaching.

My brother is doing Primerica, but he only does it as a side job, SO, you should always have another job to go along with it, and If your not selling that much, I would ask people to see if they can get you some appointments with people they know, and the people they know, and so on
