I'm not judging, but I am going to tell you that you should NEVER pierce yourself. As a professional, I've tried to pierce my own navel and cartilage and still would prefer another piercer to do it for me
I am a PROFESSIONAL piercer and never condone piercings on your own. Especially with something an veiny and wiggly as a tongue. You probably do not have the proper tools and you NEVER numb a piercing, because if something goes wrong, you won't be able to feel it to know.
So without the proper tools and knowledge, you can do the following things to yourself:
-misalign the piercing
-slip and hit a vein
-cause unnecessary infection by using stuff found around the house
-cause unnecessary pain by doing it yourself (often you pierce slower than a professional, so you are likely to tear your tongue and bleed a lot more)
Then you have to know proper aftercare, which is something you don't learn out of nowhere. On top of that, doing it yourself, you might not know about risks of oral health and safety later on (bad breath, gum disease, loss of mild tongue coordination if not done correctly, chipped teeth, weak enamel, the list goes on...)
Just save up your pennies and see a professional. Do yourself a favor and just don't. If its because you are underage, wait until you are older.

You definitely need to have it done by a professional piercer. The tongue is full of blood vessels (some very large) and nerve bundles, not to mention your tastebuds. Professional piercers are trained in sterile techniques to reduce the risks of infection, excessive bleeding, and nerve damage. Piercing your own primary muscle involved in both speech and taste when you don't have the training to do so is a really bad idea.

you really shouldn't pierce yourself at home for any reason! you need to be in a completely sterile area when doing something like that because you can get yourself infected and you probably don't know how to sterilize your area properly anyway! So do it if you want a black and blue tongue, i bet you just can't wait until it just gets so infected that they're gonna have to cut it off! Just leave that stuff to the professionals!

You really, really, REALLY should go and have it professionally done! There are certain logistics of piercing a tongue that if you don't know 'em, you could do some serious damage. For one, there is a major vein and if you hit it, you'll bleed badly(don't know if you'd bleed to death but still...why chance it?) and I'm also fairly certain there's a major nerve in there.
When I went to have mine pierced, they did a lot, and I mean A LOT of looking at my tongue before they would even tell me if they could pierce it. My tongue was almost "un-pierceable" due to the fact that it's kinda short and the big vein was almost in the way.

I won't judge, but I definitely would not recommend this at home. You will be in a world of pain if your damage your tongue or it becomes infected.
Have a licensed professional do this.
If you must get your tongue pierced, don't do it on the cheap.

Whats cheaper doing it yourself at home or paying the doctor when you hurt yourself or it gets infected? When it comes to your body and health, going the low cost route doesn't make any sense - Sorry.

You should get it done professionaly, I think that the tongue is a real heavy bleeder and you'll probably end up loosing a lot of blood if you do it yourself

It can be really unsafe to pierce your own tongue. Have a professional do it instead other wise you can cause yourself extreme pain by hitting a major nerve...
Look at this article about one teenager who did this.

Don't do that yourself!!!! Don't be so cheap and go ahead and pay a professional who knows what they're doing. You might regret it if you do it yourself (infection, etc.).

the best and safest way is to go pay to get it done....i assume you are under 18 because any mature responsible person would just go pay to get it done...
