Does it matter to you whether or not your significant other, or potential significant other if they have a degree from college in something or whether they have an ordinary run in the mill job? and if it does, how much does it matter?

It only matters if the run of the mill job doesn't supply enough to support the significant other's needs. We should have some ambition in us to be successful in some way, be that in a career, in a relationship with family and friends, etc. but each should be self-sufficient.

what should matter the most is how you feel about each other and how well you treat each other what good is it to be with someone if they have a degree and they treat you disrespectfully and just because someone goes to college and earns a degree does not nessicarrly mean he or she will use it and make something of them selves the degree is only as good as the person who hold one

No, the important thing is caring, love, compatibility. How they treat you when you are sad, sick or just having a bad day. That's what matters most.
