Which baptism are you talking about, the profession of faith baptism or the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
Being baptized by immersion in water as a profession of faith is symbolic of Christ's death and resurection, the washing away of your sin nature and claiming the new creation you are in Christ Jesus and your public confession that Jesus is now your Savior and the Lord of your life. As you claim to know "the truth" I am assuming that Jesus is the Lord of your life and you have surrendered all that you are to Him. If this is the case you have already recognized that you are a sinner, have repented and asked Jesus to forgive you, washing away all of your sins. There is no reason to wait in publicly proclaiming your new birth.

If you are talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the only reason to wait is to be taught and to have a clear understanding in your mind of what this means. Many churches and denominations have different requirements and understanding of the manifestation and verification of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. This baptism can be accomplished by the laying on of hands, joint prayer or even by praying on your own with understanding. Once you have understanding, from the bibles perspective, it is important to maintain the position of "I beleive that I receive". Since this is a spiritual baptism it is easy to try and filter God's Spirit through our mind. This does not work! This is your "new" spirit communing with The Holy Spirit in the vessel that is your body. This is usually evidenced by speaking in tongues. This is not the spiritual gift of tongues, which is speaking in the tongue of a known foriegn language not known to the speaker. The tongue from baptism is receiving a prayer language that allows your spirit to communicate with God without your conscious mind filtering the conversation. The tongue can be unknown utterances and groanings, words that sound like a language, even the uncontrolled weeping of tears can be evidence of your spirit communing to God.

Once someone becomes a child of God, puts on Christ's Righteousness, washed in the blood of the lamb; then Christian will be water baptized because person is righteousness of Christ. We don't get water baptized to make us righteous. We get water baptized because we are the righteousness of Christ.

To be water baptized is to tell the world that the old person is dead and the new person is alive in Christ. This is being a witness for what God has done.

It's NEVER WRONG to know God's truth. Most denominations encourage baptism after accepting the Lord to "show the world" that you have changed and "immerged" as "a new creature" in the Lord. It's only a ritual--if you've accepted him, you'll see Heaven and the Lord. Non-baptism won't send you to Hell.

In my opinion, baptism is a symbolic act representing rebirth as a follower of Christ. The important part is the accepting of Christ, the unimportant part is the sprinkling of water. If it is personally important to you, by all means go ahead.

be baptized at birth and reaffirm your acceptance of Christ at the age of reason through confirmation, very scriptural practices but why would bible Christians fail to see this.....ummmm? Jesus said not to keep the children from him and infants, the apostle baptized entire households...surely some infants might have been at home with there parents during this. baptism is a requirement for entering heaven, not the only one but it is the first one.

not at all. Baptism is not what saves you without accepting Jesus Christ as yoru savior. Some wait until thier child can decide when they are redy to accept Jesus and want to be baptized. The sacrament is not what saves you it goes with accepting Jesus and repenting of sins.

I don't think anyone should be baptized until they are old enough to understand what it is they are doing and can make the decision for themselves. Although baptizing a baby doesn't hurt them and makes the parents feel better.

Baptism lets everyone know that you have asked Jesus to change you and you are letting them know you are changing from your old ways to not go there again

. Baptism by water is what Jesus asks us to do.

baptism isnt a necessity of the christian faith. doesnt say in the bible those not baptised will go to hell... its nothing more then a symbol of being reborn, starting to live your life for christ instead of yourself.
