Because God has always made beautiful things from the ashes of my life (some have taken a long time to sprout, but they always have). God never intended us to come here for a vacation from pain and suffering, that comes after this life. He put us here to see if we would blame and hate Him when tough times come or if we would turn to Him and ask for His love and comfort. He will always comfort those who ask in humility.

It's not so much the suffering and cruelty that bothers me, that's always been a part of life (as far as I can tell, anyway). What gets me, especially these days, is how stupid, or lazy, or afraid our society has become. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it's like we are in this age where all the dreams of our past can finally be realized, and nobody seems to care anymore, like we're burnt out on the idea of achieving great things. Sure we have breakthroughs in science and technology every five minutes, but there is no driving force, we aren't working towards anything in particular.
That being said, I'm happy to be alive now for the same reasons i was just complaining about. We live in such a weird time, it's different than life has ever been on this planet, ALOT different. I think that as a race, or species, or whatever, this age will be as great of a lesson as any age of the past, maybe even more so. I'm glad to be a part of it.

It is worth living because I said so. Only kidding. It is worth living because your family and your Friends love you. Also, if it were not for people like yourself that ask these questions, nothing would ever get done to help the people and animals that are suffering. I know this sounds like a cope out, but if you live your life helping and loving other people no matter what they look like or if they are different than you (or me). Then you are making their life better. Also, I am a Christian and I believe that God put us all on this earth for a reason. Maybe you are here to do something great and if you do not finish something in this world will be lost. I hope what I typed made sense to you and I didn't just confuse you even more. Thanks for reading and God Bless, Waltyred

When your parents pro created you out of love...It is because your life, you are going to see later as you grow older, has a purpose. Everyone brought into the world has a gift. But because of the jealousy between nations and your country you live in people turn to hate one another. Politically and religiously sad to say.
There are more honest hearted people than cruel people who hate and kill.
But you hang in there...you were born with a talent...everyone has one, so find it keep your eyes on the prize.
One last thought,,,young one,
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power,
The world will know peace."- Anonymous

my life is worth living more because of all the suffering
if each person who has something beautiful to give to the world .. who cares for this world , and loves people without judgement
can do their part , no matter how small or big that is ..
then they are making a difference
so yes i can and will make small differences and lessen the suffering
( and i got the most wonderful family to live for also )

There's also beauty and joy. Try doing something about the suffering and cruelty, and you may find that your life is worth living. Sometimes we bring ourselves more joy by helping others than we could ever find just trying to make ourselves happy.

Everybody effects someone else. One little thing I may do that I don't pay any attention to may make the world of difference to someone. Just suppose someone got up and said "I am so miserable that if someone doesn't smile at me today I am going to kill myself and out of the blue I met you on the street and just gave you a little smile. You could not justify killing yourself then and then maybe the next day you met someone and fell in love and so on and so on.

There is merit in struggle for there is a greater good that comes out it. you become stronger and wiser. It is possible that your suffering may help another soul. Consider Jesus' sufferings.
Sin is the root of all the worlds' sorrows avoid that the best you can and you'll be the light of the world

Because all the suffering and temporary and actually serves as a sign that these better things are near, much like painful labor pains come before the birth of a beautiful baby. Please see Psalms 37:10 and Revelation 21:3,4.to find out whats coming.

It's not, if you only focus on your own life. People are so self-centered (myself included), that it's easy to get depressed, because like you said, there is so much suffering and pain here.
I think there are two things we have to focus on, one, we have to live for others. This is what the Bible means by "sacrifice"-- you have to give up living for yourself, and give yourself to helping others. Think about it. If God Himself were in a human body, and standing here, let's say, in Los Angeles, what would He do? He'd immeadiately get to work helping people. He wouldn't sit and watch tv, or get drunk and party He'd spend His time making people's lives better. We have to do the same. We have to sacrifice or give up our time, energy, resources, etc. Nothing else is satisfying.
2nd, we have to remember that the world was never intended to be like this. If you were to go to Heaven right now, and stay for 5 minutes, you would NEVER want to come back here. Our lives here would seem like dung, which is what the Bible says when you compare your life here and there. There really is a better world coming. We have to be patient. This world, and us in our present states, this world horrifies even God. The things we do make him want to vomit too, it's not just you, and your appraisal of things. God intended for things to be much much better. We have ruined things ourselves, but the good news is that it's not going to be like this for much longer.
Someday, if you make it, you're going to be happier than you could ever imagine now.
