Yes. As an airliner nut, I can tell you for sure that you can. But when and where you can depends on the airport, the time of day, the location from where you're taking the pictures, and the mood of the cops or security guys.
I'd just go ahead, play ignorant, and take pictures until (if ever) someone stops you. They're not gonna confiscate your camera or film (flash card.) They'll just tell you...correctly or incorrectly...that it's against security rules.
A few weeks ago, I was waiting for an Airtran flight at Dulles Airport. I was shooting some pictures out of the terminal window at a very busy American Airlines gate. I was suddenly accosted by two AA ticket agents and a guy who introduced himself as the head of AA Security at Dulles. They told me to put my camera away immediately...taking pictures was "against the law," and they could take my camera from me if they wanted too.
Meanwhile, the Airtran agent at the next gate, whom I had just checked in with, saw me being questioned. He came over to the AA gate and snidely asked the AA guys to "stop harassing my customer." I moved 20 feet to his (the Airtran) window and resumed my photo shoot. Go figure.
We airliner nuts are endlessly harassed by security and police...wherever we are. I'm a pilot and I even have an airport/FAA SIDA badge...but I still get harassed sometimes!
It's a game. There are 100 places at any major airport where a terrorist could sneak in if he wanted to. Airliner nuts are just easy prey.

Yes, you can use any form of camera in the airport. On the plane any form can be used except during the first and last 10 min of flights where the electronics might interfere with the navigation equipment

Anyone can photograph you in public; including law enforcement, security cameras, and/or paparazzi. You do not have a privacy right to your image while you're in public. An invasion of privacy may exist when photos are being taken of you while you're inside your home. - J.D. Caveat. 4th Amendment not 911 or Bush. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

As long as you dont use a camera with transmision in an aircraft during take off and landing (like a cellular phone camera). You must also watch after no fotographing signs. If you want to fotograph any officials (like a airline emploee or a cop) always ask nicely before. Johan

Yes, unless it's posted that photography is prohibited. Some airports DO prohibit photography. Ben Gurion in Israel is an excellent example.
Virtually all airports restrict photography in the international arrivals hall, immigration desks, and customs areas.
At any rate, when photography is restricted or prohibited it is ALWAYS clearly and plainly posted! If anyone challenges you claiming that it is illegal, politely ask them to provide you with proof. (Where it's posted, they usually have a reference to the law or regulation that forbids it right on the sign.)

I believe you can take pictures on the plane and in the airport. You may want to check with your airline; and possibly your airport before your travel.

I've taken pictures in airports with no problem. I just don't go around taking pictures of the security processes or otherwise anything that may look suspicious.

Yes, I think u can. I have even taken some in a plane, at the airport. it could depend sometimes on the security people. They can be a bit annoying and persist in being all gung ho in their security jobs.

I take photos at airports all the time, and while flying. The windows in the airplanes suck, but it does work, and it's not frowned upon.
