First of all, we have to remember that the Bible was written by men, divinely inspired men, but men all the same. So the idea that only men can divorce their wives goes back to the time period when the Bible was written. Women weren't on much of an equal footing back then.
I think either person should be allowed to divorce the other if the basic covenant of the marriage has been irrevocably broken. This could be infidelity, mental, emotional and/or physical abuse, deception, lack of companionship, etc.
Why should people be forced to stay together if they have absolutely no emotional connection to each other? I read a column in the paper the other day. Talking about how the time came to junk an old car that simply wasn't worth the investment in time or money, the author implied that sometimes you just have to recognize when it's time to put something out of its misery. I don't believe God would want two people to suffer until one dies, simply because of a marriage bond.

You have to remember that when the Bible was written women were not considered citizens. Therefore, the law at that time was addressed toward men only. Now, the law recognizes women as equal with men. Therefore, women to have the right to divorce men. However, keep this in mind. The only reason for divorce in the bible is adultry. If we truely believe in what the bible says, then we are married for life and are one with our spouse. We can work out issues if we are honest, and truly desire to reconcile.

I'm sorry I don't understand your question!?! What does one sex have to do with the other? If you believe in the Bible it says that you should love your wife as yourself just as God loves you! So if you love your wife like you love yourself why would you need to ask this question. You wouldn't cheat and neither would she. You can't take pieces and parts of this book and wrap it in a box just so long as it fits what you want! The bible is clear on all divorce so in answer to your question?
If you cheated on your wife would she have the right to divorce you? Of course she would! You would no longer be practicing your belief and at that point do you really think that one more infraction against God is going to make a difference in your walk with the Lord? A sin committed by you and causing the sin of another is something the Lord frowns on! So don't do it!
Now, if you need a marriage counselor you might want to call your church!

If I have been you, i could placed money right into a protection gadget that archives and then conceal the cameras around the domicile so the little terror would not know they're there. you will want a thank you to maintain the recordings for no less than 6 months or longer too via fact the fake claims can come months later. So then whilst he lies, there will be video evidence he's telling a lie. it extremely is with reference to the only thank you to truly supply your self with protection. Trusting somebody's word anymore would not decrease it. case in point, little boys tough domicile, provide way, get bruised or injury bones. What do you think of the baby will say the way it befell if he's mad at somebody? You greater effective have evidence you probably did no longer do it. He feels like a budding psychopath, sorry if that hurts somebody's thoughts, yet that's what it feels like. And in case you do get a surveillance gadget, do no longer exhibit it to him on the 1st lie. If he's a splash conniver, which will merely make him sneakier.

What you are reading in the bible is the old law and the Jewish law at that. Today a Christian can divorce even in the Roman Catholic chruch under the right circumstances. Both women and men.

The only Scriptural grounds for divorce is adultery. The innocent mate is free to get a divorce, be it the man OR the woman. See Matt. 19:9.

Yes, both people in a marriage have the right to divorce! It depends on the situation though. If there is adultery or abuse involved, YES.
