I guess I should explain. I'm going for a month. My TOTAL travel time in a vehicle will be 10 minutes, twice-from the airport to my aunt's place, and back. I'm going to stay with family who are poor-don't own cars! I don't want to lug a car seat on a 25 hour flight to a country where it'll be 35 degrees celsius unless I absolutely have to. Hope this clarifies for all those people thinking I'm a bad mother. I'm NOT another Britney Spears.

Does it matter if their required? Do you only use one to avoid a ticket? If so, you should possibly rethink your parenting motives.

That shouldn't matter, your child should ALWAYS be in a seat when in a vehicle. Take one with you. Imagine how you would feel if you didn't and something happened.

additional details: A baby can die in an accident in 2 seconds, it doesn't matter how long the car ride is. You ALWAYS need a carseat.
