No don't lie just tell him you are not interested in going out with im and that he should let you people remain good friends.

Honestly I don't see a problem with that, because for one thing if you just say you have a boyfriend (when you don't) it helps make the rejection easier for him. He'll think oh it's not me, it's just because she's taken. People would probably give you everyday advice "Just tell him how you feel blah blah blah." What other people don't realize is that it's harder to just tell a person bluntly, I myself don't like the confrontation or being in the spotlight. If I have to take the easy way out and tell a white lie, then why not. It is wrong but at the same time you're letting him down softly. Everyone is different and deals with problems differently, do whatever makes you comfortable, if you have to lie to make rejection less painful then do it. Good luck girly!

It's interesting to me that you would consider him your best friend and you have no problem lying to him. I bet you don't enjoyed being lied to. Another interesting little fact is you consider him such a good guy that he is not only your friend but your best guy friend... but he is not good enough to be a bf. Not even good enough to get a chance. I bet if you were madly in love with some guy you would want a chance even if he claimed you weren't his type.

I would suggest you don't get into the habit of lying, if people can't handle the truth is their problem, don't make trouble for yourself by lying.

Good luck!

I know what you mean when you say he's not your type, which is fine and completely understandable. I think its a bad idea to lie and say you have a boyfriend. I think he would much prefer you tell him the truth. That you don't like him and you just want to be friends.

no, it's not. one of my best friends once did that to let down this guy who asked her out. he was really sweet, but he just wasn't her type. it's going to be harder for you though, cuz he's ur best friend, and he know a lot about u, so he would probably know if u have a boyfriend, right?

If he's your "best" friend, won't he know you're lying? It's worse to be a liar. Just tell him the truth. If he reacts negatively, that would be his problem. Obviously, he's not at the level of friendship you seem to think. Just be honest.

No. Don't lie. Just say no, you're not interested. Better to be upfront and real than a lier.

Yes. What's the matter, don't have the bottle to tell the other guy? Flucking puff.

NO. I did it all the time. Just tell him that you have a bf. No one else. They will think you aer a liar and hate you!

fine by me, but the guy you lied to will eventually find out if he really cares.
