If you are unable to pay a hospital bill, and have no insurance but can pay on it overtime, does the hospital have to accept the payments, or can they send you to a cresit collection because the bill is not paid in full?

depends on the hospital........most state run hospitals have to accept payments and they cant turn anyone away.......but privately owned hospitals do not have to and can send it to collections.

I think it depends on each specific hospital's policies, but I don't see why they would send you to collections immediately. I'm sure they'd like a chance to get their money without having to pay the fees associated with a collection service. I went for my annual check up not too long ago and the receptionist accidentally wrote down my member number incorrectly for my insurance. I didn't know until about a month later when I received a bill from their office. It wasn't a collections notice or a "final attempt", just a regular ol' bill. I called up there and that's when I discovered the mistake, but now it's taken care of. One of my co-workers makes regular payments to her daughter's pediatrician so it's possible. The best thing is to check with the hospital beforehand to be sure. Good luck!

flow 2 the hosp's Billing/Pmt Dept & make a million very final attempt 2 pay. in the event that they do no longer want it, THEN ask 2 talk 2 a counselor. Have yer invoice/s w/ U & they are going to adjust a pmt plan 4 U. if this fails, threaten 2 call yer atty gen workplace & the BBB. additionally, U can threaten 2 call yer atty (they are going to on no account comprehend IF U don't have a million) yet DO take a witness w/ U while U attempt 2 make a pmt on yer invoice/s & in the event that they do no longer want U'll have data that U DID make an attempt 2 pay, which will supply the government some thing 2 artwork w/. maximum suitable needs!!!

Depends on the hospital. The hospital where I attend only accepts people with insurance.
The hospital where I'm a volunteer at treats you then gives you a bill. if you can't pay it they either give you a payment plan or leave you alone.

this varies from state from to state, normally as long as you pay something on it every month you;re okay. just don't forger it.
also sometimes you can negotiate down the bill since you don't have insurance and they know they are probably not gonna get the full amount, unless it is a small amt ($1000.00 or less)
