Heres the situation. Iam planning on going to go to cali tomorrow. My friend just so happens to be a girl i had trouble with and ended up liking a long time ago while i had a girl friend it was a mess but now its been over a year. ive still been dating the same girl after crap blew by and its all good now. SO I wanted to drive down to cali. The girl i used to like but our past is so far behind us wants me to go AS A FRIEND with her to travel down to where she used to live. I have a couple of friends down there. I cant help but feel like shes just going to go down there and visit all her friends and ignore me. Everyones telling me wow its such a bad idea cause you have a girl friend.The truth is i need some time to get away i need a vacation and this is my only chance to do it. As soon as i leave for a week when i get by my girlfriend leaves for 2 weeks for germany. Im so confused. I talked with her and shes upset about it but she said it will be alright.

Do you know what you sound like? You are 18 for God's sake not 30 and in a marriage with 10 kids. Do you want to go on vacation? Yes. So take one and tell everyone else to sling their hook. While you are away have a relaxing time and come home and act like an 18 year old and not some old married dodder

Dude, if you need a vacation from the norm, by all means take your "alone time" especially if you've been together for four years with your girl, but if she hates this girl, then you might be saving yourself a lot of headaches down the road to skip this one....or just wait till she goes to germany. Ignorance is bliss!!

The answer is simple don't go if you value your relationship .
Even if you don't speak to your ex while your away you will put a doubt in your girlfriends mind that will eventually ruin your relationship .
PS if your girlfriend says it's alright it's because she really does love you , and if your willing to risk that for a weeks holiday then she's better off without you !

If you need a holiday maybe you should try and get away with your girlfriend. Plus if you don't go it tells your girlfriend just how much you care about her and her feelings.
I would tell my boyfriend it was ok, just as she did but inside I would be screaming for him to not go.
There is an old saying "if there's doubt, then leave it out" maybe something in that for your situation!

you know what people say don't you? Distance makes the heart grow fonder. Maybe it will make your relationship grow even more. Or are you trying to get with this friend? Well life is full of decision making and this going to be a tough call to make but that is part of being a grown up. Don't it suck. Your only 18 and you could do with a time out...
Getting away may help you clarify things in your own head what you want out of life...
Plus travelling is a massive experience you shouldn't have to miss out on for any reason...

Dont go with her..even though your gf says that its alright shes going to worry about it the whole time you are gone. shes really not alright with it but doesnt want to upset you. Sounds like this other girl had an alterior motive..dont do it!! think of you gf and put yourself in her shoes.
