Ignore them long enough and they won't care anymore. To forgive helps you and the one who has offended you.

Initially I would say yes, that they would probably feel uncomfortable. However, depending on what was said they just may not care if you talk to them..and maybe thats the result they wanted in the first place. On the flip side, if the person was sorry, but you refused to talk to them, when could they have apologized for their mistakes...and since it's been a year they might have just said to hell with it.

It might hurt them for a short time...but if it's been going on for a year, my guess is that ignoring them is hurting you worse than it is them....
Maybe it is past time to talk it over?

I have one family member who is aggressive, and purposely says things to hurt you. So one time I didn't talk with her for 10 months, nor did she see my children. It ended when I called to say my daughter had died. She had missed out on all that time because of her mouth. It hurts all involved when people can't get along.

Your asking about the feelings of the person who hurt you. I'll bet that, deep down, it's really your emotions that concern you most.

Maybe you are scared to confront the issue. You really have to just go for it, and get it all out. It will be an enormous weight of of your shoulders.

That's my friendly suggestion.

A cold shoulder for a year,no one can handle that.Since you give no details,it is hard to answer, but if you love the loved one,let it
go.You are going to lose the loved one .

To carry a grudge hurts one more then a few words. Forgiveness is primarily for yourself.
