Water has no calories, it makes you full even though you wont gain any fat, drink water instead of eating that bag of chips, you feel just as full but you're not gonna gain anything from it, in fact water helps you burn calories because it takes some energey to be digested, but no calories are gained.

We push water all the time just because it's good for you, not as a weight loss tool. When "newbies" start working out we really push the water because they get really hot, and the water will help keep their core temp down. If you're ever hot, drinking water will help cool you down.
You won't gain water weight either, as your body will eliminate what it does not use. Fact is, most people are dehydrated most of the time. Our bodies require water all day long for hydration.

Drinking water to lose weight is a myth. If you want to lose weight, you might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout to use as well.

There is a lot written about water, but I think the water weight gain stuff is mostly hype. What happens when you get too much water?? YES, you urinate and get rid of the excess. But more than that, you flush out your kidneys and bladder and eliminate the impurities that losing weight produces.

Actually, like most things diet related, the opposite of intuition applies.

If you drink more water, your body actually retains less water because it realizes there is a steady supply available.

Your body is always attempting to maintain a constant level and works against you on almost everything you do. People constantly underestimate this effect. That's why you don't want to starve yourself, because the body responds by slowing down and failing to maintain muscle mass.

I drink about a gallon a day, and trust me, you get rid of it quickly drinking it at that rate. Also, drinking really cold water or ice water helps burn even more calories because your body works to elevate the temperature back up. Just don't get water-poisoning, I'm pretty sure it'd be hard though.

When you burn fat, there are waste products produced. If you don't get them out of your system, then they mess up your metabolism. Drinking water washes those wastes out of your system, and you wind up literally flushing them down the toilet.
