it really depends on what meat im having but white rice would be my pick with a little butter in it. the rice a roni plain rice pilaf is really good!

Assuming you do not add anything to it, Shereen Jegtvig says the potato, but personally I cannot eat a potato without adding a little butter and gobs of cheese, bacon, and salt.

However, I can enjoy rice without adding anything; although, a few small drops of soy sauce goes a long way.

I think potatoes are better. I never hear when you are dieting to eat rice. It is always bake potato not french fries.

I'm not sure, potatoes are better to me and rice is good too but rice will bind you.

potatoes are good for you but in the rice department brown rice is best.

potatoes are better for you than white rice. They are both starch, but at least potatoes have lots of soluble fiber which is good for cholesterol.

Are you talking about some particular diet? Anyway, if you have to avoid carb, then both are not good. Brown rice is better.
