Wow, Southport! That's a beautiful place to live! I lived there for three years. It's a really, really nice place. Gorgeous countryside around it, Liverpool nearby for excitement, and great, sandy beaches, especially in Formby. Things to do: Get on the train and see Manchester, Liverpool, if you want big cities. Otherwise, enjoy the beach, the piers, the cafes, go biking around the countryside (it's all flat enough, you can visit farms and take amazing photos if you're into that). Nightlife should be good, there are lots of nice places in Southport. And you can go on endless walks along the beach, which is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and stretches forever. Oh, and then there's Blackpool, the British Las Vegas - a bit seedy and crazy, but lots of character. Enjoy the experience, I'm often getting really homesick for it!

weather is beging to get colder, you need coat day and night, schools are good, just normal uk schooling, there is a big beach a prom with a little train that runs along, and a lake, another little train takes you around the town, its better in summer, quiet in winter due to weather. It not a lively place, more of a laid back quiter place. There is a theatre, a shopping area, pubs, and some nice housing around. You are not to far from Blackpool, about 20mins.

I've been many times as a visitor...and quite like the place although I would be the first to say that it is not everyone's cup of tea!

Take a look at these links to get an idea of the place

Enjoy your trip here and don't eat too much seaside rock!
