Two things you can do: 1) Eat healthy foods...most people don't realize that what you eat affects your skin as well as your hair. Eat healthy proteins like soy and white meats. 2) Use a quality shampoo and conditioner, not that cheap stuff from Kmart. Go to a salon and ask for a product called Back to Basics.

A couple of years ago, I had really, really short hair. The longest part was around an inch and a half long! (I had a pixie cut).. I got sick of it, and got ready for it to grow out- I began using the DOOGRO products. You can find these at beauty supply stores, and they are not expensive. They really do work. On average, hair grows around a half inch to an inch a month. You can do the math to figure out how long it will take to reach your desired length. Another option to consider: while I was using the DOOGRO products, and waiting for my hair to grow out, I used hair extensions. I did these myself, and they were relatively easy to maintain. Now my hair has grown out very nicely. Hope this helps.

DO NOT BRUSH IT. Not saying you cannot detangle it with your fingers. Get a leave in conditioner. I just use my regular conditioner. When I am in the shower, I wash my hair and then I put conditioner on it. I comb it through with my fingers and rinse it out. Just before I get out, I put a little conditioner in my hand and rub it through my wet hair and then just let it dry naturally.

To make it grow faster, try getting it trimmed every few weeks. Just a tiny bit.

Don't brush it, wet. When it's wet , it is at a very vulnerable stage. If you brush it wet, it goes just sooo farrr, then POW!
broken hair!
