First of all, you shouldn´t breath through your mouth. If you can´t breath properly through your nose you should see an ear-nose-throat doctor. To diminish the swelling you can wash your mouth with chamomile tea (the real stuff) very concentrated. **DON´T DO THE CHAMOMILE IF YOU´RE PREGNANT** Or you can buy the expensive pharmaceutical option (Perio Kin) Keep very clean your mouth.

mouth breathing and inflamed gums are totally unrelated. your gum inflammation is because you don't do a good enough job keeping your teeth cleaning and flossing.

GENERALLY, PUFFY GUMS ARE THE RESULT OF GINGIVITIS, A CODITION GENERALLY CAUSED BY A BUILDUP OF PLAQUE AROUND THE TEETH. A PROFESSIONAL CLEAING USUALLY RESOLVES THE PUFFINESS.

Floss your teeth at least once daily. It's old food trapped by your teeth/gum line.
