Why are you against gay marriage? I know the bible says it is wrong, but not everyone believes in the bible. I don't see christians trying to make it illegal for buddist or pegans to be married.. The bible is against thier belifes. Should atheist not be allowed to marry because they don't beleive in the bible? If you don't understand why they want to be married so what? You are not the one that has to understand. If you don't want to see it or it makes you sick, don't go to the wedding. And what if you are right and god does think it is wrong, shouldn't it be up to him to judge? If he doesn't like it let him tell the gays they are going to hell.

And for those who say it is against tradition....

Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. This USED to be tradition.

The bible says it's okay for a man to have more than one wife. This USED to be tradition.

Some traditions need to be changed.

I completely agree. Religious disapproval of a thing is entirely different from the legality of a thing. The LEGALITY of same sex marriage has nothing to do with any deity or any religion.

Because it is an abomination before God and is just gross to start with . It is against nature and should be considered against humanity as well. Homosexuality is used as an excuse for those who cannot make themselves likeable to other sexes. If you are a homosexual then you are offensive to God. You do not offend me because I could care less what type of nastiness you defile your body with because that will be between you and God. Can you deal with that. Have you read the scripture and know what it says regarding your lifestyle? Peace be on you if you can handle what God decides to do . I am neither judge nor jury, simply giving my opinion.

We are free individuals who have given our lives into the hands of blind fools. Fools in the guise of the religious, the political, the intelligentsia, the morally upright, the morally uptight, the clever, the know-all AND,the "good" and the "bad".

Tradition is just another way of saying "I'm afraid of change".

Simply be yourself and none can stand against you. (even someone like Jesus made a conscious choice to give himself into the hands of "others" to demonstrate that they had no power over him. This is what his words and actions spoke of at all times)

You who have ears to hear, let him/her hear.

There are two kinds of marriage - marriage as religious tradition, and marriage as a social/civil institution.

Many denominations do in fact recognize gay marriage even if the government does not.

Should the government step in and tell a church what they can or cannot recognize as a religious marriage? I think most of us can see that would be wrong...

So why is it any less wrong for a church to step in and tell the government what can or cannot be allowed as a social/civil marriage?

once it is allowed only more sinful actions can come from it whether you are atheist Buddhist doesn't matter. it goes against our believe and we have the right to prevent it. marriage is a christian rite and sacrament and therefore should adhere to what god teaches and tells us about the marriage. why if you are atheist do you want to be married in a christian sacrament? you don't believe the teachings and commands of god so why be determined to be married? just continue in your sin if that is what you want and allow the sacrament of marriage to be the way it was intended to be. the old testament adheres to the laws of the old covenant.the new covenant took place in the new testament which is the law that adheres to us so using Leviticus to make your point is irrelevant.

there is nothing wrong with gay marriage, and those that have a problem with it are already dead inside and have no joy in their own life so they choose to pick on other people that might be happier than they are,and usually use scripture to justify it because they are too stupid to know otherwise.

i am for gay marriage all the way, every person deserves to be happy,no matter what, and no law based on religion should stand in anyones way.

I think that if two consenting adults of the same gender want to commit to each other, they should get all the benifits that straight people get. I don't get why so many people are concerned with other peoples lives.

"Some traditions need to be changed."
I agree with that 100%

I agree with you and I'm for freedom. Freedom means being able to do whatever you want with a consenting partner. Without the government looking in your bedroom to see what you're doing - or anybody else for that matter!
