If a dog is use to the intended mate, then when your female begans her heat cycle the two of them should be separated until she has been in season for about 10 days, then put them together and most will mate. After mating ,separate them again for 1 day,or overnight, and let them together again.Your female should be bred at least three times,as first mating may not take.If mating occurs, she will deliver within 56 to 63 days from time of conception.

Friendly Hello, Some basics for you. You would need to caculate when exactally she first came into heat. From that day count 9 days forward. Normally between 9 and day 14 the female is most subseptiable to breeding. Sometimes the male just can not mate without help. So be prepared to help guide is member in. If this still becomes to hard. Call your vet right away make and appointment to have a progesterone test done on your female and have the vet collect the male and artificially inseminte the female. Our vet charges only $82.00 for that entire process. Being as you are new to this. I am going to tell you something that you may not know. It has been said that when you cross a chocolate to a yellow you get a dudly color. Now I am not exactlly sure if that is true but that is what I was told a long time ago. Larbadors are very hard to sell in different areas. I know here in Michigan we have seen reg. puppies go as low as $100.00 obo. Then if you have a really good line and there are Champions or Champion sired and all the heriditary defects are checked out and the dogs are cleared. You may get more money but I have even seen those good breeders go to all that expense and sell dirt cheap as there are so many labs around this area. It varys in different areas. After your dog is either tied with your female or you have your vet do a AI. Use this site to caculate a potential due date. It is great. http://www.schaferhund.com/pregnancy.htm I would also recommend micro chipping all your puppies before they leave. Anyway if you need more advice feel free to contact me. Remember for every life you help to bring in the world there is always a chance that that life will be left behind and neglected at some point. So please be careful and screen your buyers carefully. bullmastiffpuppiesakc@yahoo.com Blessings, Kelly

I`m afraid you`ll have to wait until their mating season arrives. Dog`s mating season occurs only twice a year. When the time comes, your female dog will get a little hot and then she will let the male dog to mate with her. That is if she considers him worthy. When female dogs are in mating season, they tend sometimes to choose their mating companion, so keep a look out.

I have to second the previous responders in that you are not at all prepared or qualified to be a breeder. Ideally you would do X-Rays of you labs to reduce the chances that you are passing on genes that will make your puppies prone to hip or elbow dysplasia. This is not something to do just because you like puppies. If you like puppies, please do not breed your dogs!!!!!

I also work in rescue and it is not a joke- many very good animals are PTS

If you don't know the answer to such a basic question, you have no business even thinking about breeding your dogs.

You also have no idea how to look after a pregnant dog do you?

Do you have a clue how to help her if she has trouble whelping?

Any idea at all as to what's necessary to look after a litter of pups from newborn to 8 or 9 weeks old when they're old enough to leave?

25 million unwanted animals are put to sleep each year in the United States. I BEG you not to mate your dogs. If you don't know how to do this don't even let them have one litter. You don't know their predisposition to genetic disease and could have sick dogs as a result. Please leave breeding to professional breeders who are well EDUCATED in these things and are out for the interest of the animals and promoting high quality animals in that breed. Go get them neutered and spayed and enjoy your life with your two dogs.

When the female is in standing heat, she will allow the male to mount her. This happens twice a year for un-spayed females and never for spayed ones. A heat lasts about 21 days and standing heat is from the 10-14th days.

If you don't know this basic information you have NO business breeding dogs.

There are so many things that go into breeding a dog RESPONSIBLY. If you aren't going to be a responsible breeder, don't do it.

I work in rescue, and I have SEEN dog after dog put to DEATH because there are not enough homes to keep up with all of the puppies created by idiots carelessly breeding their dogs. Do you want to contibute to that, I beg of you, DON'T DO IT!

Female dogs have to be in heat in order to breed and conceive. I suggest if you plan to attempt to breed your dogs you do some deep research. It can be a lot of work and you need to know what you are doing for the sake of your dogs.
