The difference between a human and an animal is miniscule. Something less than 5%. Animals have brains, nervous systems, endocrine systems, digestive systems, reproductive systems etc.etc.etc. that are almost the same as humans.
Let's put the question another way. If you throw, say a human, do you think it would hurt? Of course it would. And a cat would hurt too.
All living creatures have feelings and can be physically hurt.

Yes. I definitly believe that animals have feelings! I have two birds and what i do and how i treat them changes their attitude. It might sound weird but they get all sad if i yell at them. Animals are a lot like humans (except for a few differences) and i would think again about throwing that cat if i were you :)

Cat's are able to recover quickly, so the cat probably won't get hurt, but it's possible.
If you mean by "hurt" - emotionally - yes, I believe they can feel emotions as well - hence, a dog whimpers when his master leaves home, or a cat meows when he is hungry - they are thinking, feeling beings, just like us.

Animals definitely have feelings. If I accidentally pet my cat on her bad hip she'll meow in pain. Also, if you threw a cat and it hit something, it would feel pain first then come after you to return the favor :-P

I cant believe you would even ask that! It's like this, "If someone slaped you or threw you across the room, would it hurt you?" Animals have more feelings than we do!
if you've hurt an animal like that, you are a very bad person!!!

Of course they have feelings. My mom shaved my Keeshond/ wolf mix like the lion cut, and he didn't come out of the room for 3 days, so ya, they have feelings.

As a zoologist I know for a fact that animals have feelings.
They do have a nervous system so they feel hot, cold, pain, etc...
They also have cognitive reasoning abilities so they know love, hate, and express their "personalities" as such.

Yes, but I do not think they have souls.I also do not believe that people have souls. I place much more value on my pets than most people.
