My pugs all have from 8-10 puppies. I've had 11 once, that was the largest, and all lived. I've never had a litter smaller than 8, and *knock on wood* no c-sections required. Do you know your bitches family history? Was her dam a good mother? Did she have long labors? Did she require a c-section? This will tell you a lot about what may happen with your girl. Good luck, if you need anything e-mail me.

Well, it`s all a matter of size. Depending on size, ovulation and cells divition, your Pug may have from 3 to 4 puppies. In extremly rare cases, up to 5 puppies, but it can complicate the pregnancy.

I use to have some Pugs, and on one occasion one of them had 5 pups, but really is according to the size of your female and male.Be very careful and keep a close watch on your female at delivery time,as most Pugs can't remove the bag of fluid pups are born in ,because of their snubbed nose and short mouth and if not a c-section,you must remove it for her,or pups will drown in the fluid within seconds.

I would guess 4 or so.

You do realize that many Pugs require a c-section, don't you? Yours is also more likely to have whelping problems as she is getting a bit old for a first litter.

The average litter size is 2-5. Of course it varies from dog to dog and a female's first litter is usually smaller. I breed standard poodles (average litter size 5-12). I know smaller dogs have smaller litters.

The average size litter for a Pug is about 4....though it is not uncommon for them to have 8.....The bigger the litter the higher tghe risk of puppy mortality..........Good luck and hope all goes well
