If you already have spots, never shave over them as that will cut them and they will just get bigger. Also, you should try using the Gillette shaving gel with glycerin.

The spots are small infections. You might want to reexamine how you shave.
1) Always start out shaving with the grain of your beard... In other words start at the ear and shave down. Shave your face in sections and rinse the razor in the hottest water that your faucet will give. Also try tapping the razor on the edge of the sink after rinsing (mid handle, not the blade itself). You will be amazed how much hair gets caught between the blades.
2) After you finished shaving down then you can shave up to get a closer shave. Again, in sections and with rinsing and tapping the razor between sections.
3) Cup two hands to gather water to wash the remaining lather off... Don't use a washcloth or a towel. They may contain the bacteria that is making the infections.
4) It wouldn't be a bad idea to rinse your blade in some rubbing alcohol to sterilize it.
5) Using some aftershave (don't overdo it) will also help reduce the infections as the alcohol in it will kill the bacteria left on your face.
Hope that this helps!

I've had this problem its sensitive skin mixed with bacteria on the blade so every time you shave wash the blade in an antibacterial solution like Savlon

this could be for a number of reasons, if its little spots then it could be the blade needs changing or you need a better shaving foam or oil,if there deeper larger spots then there ingrown hairs in which case you need to make sure our exfoliating regularly to stop the build up of dead skin and allow the hairs to grow out effectively

its ingrowing hairs, shaving makes this happen because as the hair is cut off with a blade a the hair detatches itself from the root and a new har starts to grow, you can avoid this by exfoliation (they have nivea for men ones now they work great) and then moisturising (yes nivea again! it smells great aswell every woman i know loves the smell of it on a man) this you will have to do for a little whle as the hairs grow healthier, then you should see a improvement in the way your skin looks and feels! hope i helped, let me know how it goes

You irritated the skin when you shaved, the face is sensitive.
I found shaving in the shower saved me from getting those unsightly bumps and shaving in the shower is more efficient and saves you from those embarrassing things like leaving shaving cream around your ears.

They are ingrown hairs caused by the razor irritating the skin. Soften the hairs first by washing the area with warm soapy water, and always use shaving foam.

Sometimes shaving just doesnt work. you can either be alergic to the gel or foam you are using. Or sometimes skin is just sensitive to the razor, metal. R+try using hair removal creams or if you are allergic to them, an epilator works well
