im 110 lbs. at 12 years old am i over weight?

My sister says I look pregnat but Im not esspecially because 1 i havent started my period and two i put on this weight at age 10 ,2 years ago! I like to eat healthy but it's not always easy because my favorite thing are the chewy chips ahoy cookies! Now i want some.

I am 5 ft tall and i can have some healthy eating habits! All my friends( some even older than me ) exersise less and eat cookies ofr a living and they still weigh less than me!

Well sweetie, it does not matter how old you are. What matters is how tall you are and what type of body frame you are. I think this is a good time to start conditioning your body to look and feel good. You should be more worried about whether or not you are healthy.
Do you feel good about yourself? Can you climb 3 flights of stairs without being out of breath? Can you jog 8 blocks without feeling like your butt is holding you down? Try these out. If you answer no to any of them strive to be more active and eat better so that you can feel good about how you look and the way you accomplished it. Plus, you'll be setting good habits in stride for yourself, because working out does become a habit : )

check out this site....put your height & weight in...it will give you
an idea of IF you are overweight. If it says you are DON'T get discouraged. You are 12 and you can make HEALTHY changes.

If you are really concerned then ask your parents to help you. Your parents should be able to tell you IF you are overweight.
Unfortunately, kids dont get the same exercise as they did when I was young. We didnt sit in front of the tv or computer. We climbed trees, played jump rope, rode bikes. If you are REALLY concerned about your weight then that is what you should start doing. Go for a walk...play outside with your friends.
Being a kid... its hard to watch what you eat, but ask your parents for more fruits. Try to add at least 2-3 pcs of fruit to your diet everyday and drink more water. Remember it is ALL ABOUT eating right & exercising and whatever you do DONT COMPARE yourself to the girls on tv or in magazines. Everyone has different body types!!!

First of all weight is not primarily codependent on age!!! It all is dependent on your height and body build. 112 pounds wears differently on different people. Talk with your PE teacher at school about your BMI or even better your doctor. If they tell you you are overweight for you age/height then they should also tell your where your weight should be at and healthy ways you can achieve that desired weight. Again everybody is unique it's not enough to ask am I too heavy being 112 Lbs at 12 years old...That doesn't explain the more important facts like height, eating habits.....Ask a professional they will be most helpful

Maybe not...How tall are you? And if you are a few pounds overweight...just cut down on your Mc Donalds and Burger King. You don't need to be a bone! And what is a 12 year old girl worried about her weight for anyway. If you do as a 12 year old girl do, you should not have to worry about gaining weight. (Playing in gym, running outside, basketball, jump rope, hide and go seek.) Enjoy your life and be a 12 year old girl until you turn 13. God Bless

it's all with genes Hun! Sometimes we are the way we are because of our parents and their parents before them! So just relax! have a cookie or 2! your still young! Exercise more and eat well! Eat to satisfy not to the point where you can't walk! eat more salads and try to slow down on the sweets! It's OK to have a treat though! Not all the time!

Your wieght is not that big of an issue. You're only twelve, so i'm not sure why you're worrying over your weight already. If it is really a problem for you though, then try taking up a sport or a dance class. I would never recommend a diet for a twelve year old unless you had something like diabetes.

there are a few more things to take into consideration..but chances are you are a little overweight....cut sugars from your diet and definitely keep away from trans fat(i.e. fast food)....a good nutritious food is soup..you should start excersicing...play jumprope or something..take up a sport..ride your bike..rollerblade...a young girl your age should be physically active..excersice also helps develop the brain and decreases stress levels amongst many other beneficial factors..

Not at all but if you're not happy with how you look start setting goals and standards to get to the best shape you can.
